Nope. I believe somewhere in around 35,000 of them were made for the 03 model yr. I'm not certain for the following yrs.

They may be confused with specific colors. For example, there were only 2404 Brickyards produced in 03 and the color was discontinued. I think the Liquid Aluminum color in 04 was also limited. Other colors may be lower in the production numbers as well.

If I had to guess I'd say from 03 to now there is probably somewhere around 100,000 on the road of which most are in the US.

I'm sure someone will post with accurate numbers though.

Go to http://www.nissannews.com/ and click on the Nissan link then on "Sales News" link. You can get the exact number of each model sold each month as well as Year-to-date totals. Looking at the end of year totals, I see the following 350Z numbers:

2002 13,253
2003 36,728
2004 30,690
2005/05 12,065

That adds up to 92,736 350Z's as of May 2005!!!!

At the current rate, I estimate they'll sell only about 25,000 Z's in 2005. The big question is "where will the sales level off at"?

The good news is that the G35 sales are still twice the Z sales and while they're slowing, it's not as drastic as the Z's numbers. The numbers are still good enough to keep Z/G production going for quite a while.

Nice numbers, it took a bit of time for the car become popular, but it looks like it'll hoover around the under 30k for sure this yr. Hopefully it'll keep going strong.

1) If my neighbor's mom's mom has one doesn't bother me because ppl buy cars because THEY like it, not whether a lot of ppl have it or not (primarily).

2) If more ppl buy it, that just tells me that it's has something good going for it, otherwise no one would buy it.

3) More aftermarket support.

4) Don't want another 300Z/ZX discontinuation like the '90s if production slows to that point.

5) Because the Z is simply a good car

I remember an article in USA Today that said about 25% of all Zs made were Roadsters. Not sure if this has held true over the past couple of years. Anyone have any official numbers?

Maybe you weren't a Z fan back in 1996 and don't know what happened to cause Nissan to cease production. In 1996, Nissan only sold about 6000 300ZXs, not enough to justify the cost of production.

One of the main reasons the Z is back is because of the shared platform. That spreads the production costs around making the car more affordable and making it easier to justify it's existance in the face of low sales. I wouldn't mind seeing it taper off in the 10,000 per year range if that along with the G35 sales keep it around for a while.

Around here, Zs are not nearly as common as G35s. I'd love to see a few more so the interest and participation in the Z clubs would be a little higher.

Unfortunately, Nissan has never published any official breakdown by color, model or coupe/roadster. I have heard from several sources that the initial years' run (2004) of roadsters was going to be 25%, as Zboater pointed out. Don't know what the current ration of coupes to roadsters is.

Remember in 1996 the TT sold for nearly 45K. The Z got way too expensive especially with the dollar to yen ratio. That is what did in the last Z.

I paid almost 35k for my 91 which is more than I paid for my 03. The 96 limited edition TT was almost 60k!

i might be young at only 21 years of age, but i've been a z fan ever since i saw my first z32 and i do know what happened to the last generation. Honestly i'd like to see z the decline in sales and nissan stop making it for a few years. I guess i just want my car to be a little more exclusive than your average vette. Too bad its such a great and car and it wont happen.

I do feel this way on some level, but I also know that the more Z's that are out there, the less likely it is that someone is going to car-jack mine. Living in LA can be dangerous if you have a flashy car, and back in the mid 90's someone jacked my dad's 500 SL at gunpoint.

Being exclusive comes w/ a price unless the car suddenly stops production for one reason or another. Wanna be exclusive? Buy a Ferrari But I can see how buyers want that to happen, but in the same time it makes parts and etc difficult to obtain, not to mention another generation of the Z.

That's probably the wrong term, how about "Muscle car".
