Default *&%*%$% crashed my car!!

I was going to the doctors office as I'm feeling a bit of the flu. There I was peddling through the parking lot looking for a space, and this nice old lady started backing out. Ok...I'm gonna take her spot. So I left her ample space to back out and waited. And as she backed up...got closer and closer...and finally it was enough for her to go forward out of the parking lot. But what did she do? She went back even more and crashed right into my front bumper!! I honked like crazy. I got out of the car, looked at my a week and a half old baby with a huge dent and tons of scratches on the front bumper, and waited for the old lady to get out. Finally she gets out and I saw that she seemed like a nice old lady, I calmed myself down to ask for her insurance papers. She said, "oh that'll rub right out. I didn't hurt ya." uh...ok...try rubbing out a F*CKING HOLE!! I kindly asked again to have her insurance information, and she outright refused and tried to get into her car and leave! At the point, she was already parked back into a parking space, so I stood behind her car and blocked her way. I called the police. the police came shortly after, and forced the b*tch to cough up the info. and finally she did. Also there were 3 or 4 nice people that saw the whole thing that were willing to be witnesses. AHHHHHHHHHHHH!! Wanted to kick the **** out of that F*cking b*tch. *sigh*...so my a week and a half old alyssa is going in for surgery already on monday...luckily she didnt damage my CF lip or my CF hood...only the factory bumper. I just hope the insurance can get straightened out before next week so I don't have to pay the deductable...

Seriously...seniors should be tested periodically for the ability to operate dangerous machinery such as automobiles...

sorry for the long read...had to rant.

What the hell?????? She tried to hit and run?

That is seriously fuct. Last time I was rear ended like 4 months ago, it was this Hispanic guy driving a 78 Chevy truck. The guy LIED about being insured, and when I found out, he came up with 101 excuses why he couldn't pay (my wife's pregnant, my dad just died etc. etc.) then offered to have his "friend" fix it. I said, "No, I have the right to choose who fixes the car, thank you."

So the insurance company paid up to have the bumper repainted, under the uninsured motorist coverage. But, the story doesn't end there. The insurance company apparently goes after that guy to make him pay! He called me and said,

"HOW CAN YOU DO THAT TO A PERSON?!?! HOW CAN YOU MAKE ME PAY WHEN I HAVE NOTHING" I just replied, "I didn't do anything to YOU. YOU HIT ME. And you're not insured, which means you shouldn't be driving at all."

The excuses are unbelievable. Any responsible adult should take responsibility, even if they can't pay right away. At least the guy was nice enough not to hit and run. Probably because if he did, he knew he would go to jail for it. After all, how many people are riding around in banged up 70's white chevy trucks in LA? He'd get caught for sure.

That woman who hit you is a real ***** and should be taught a lesson in common courtesy. What would she say if you came over to her house and chipped all her fine china and said, "Ah, those dishes are fine... you can still eat off of them..."

Oh damn, sorry to hear about your car. I remember it was like a week ago I saw pics of your new car...

I, too, agree that seniors should be periodically tested for their ability to drive a motor vehicle; it makes me mad to run into old people who cannot drive ! It might be kind of sad if they are not allowed to drive, but if they hit someone with their 2-ton tank because their reaction speed is toooo slow, then it's 10x as worst as being stuck at home.

But hey, look on the bright side, only the bumper was damage and not the side door or the fender or wheel/suspension arm. Those would be really bad. After all, it will...ahem...puff right out! (can't believe she said that....lol)

The last comment reminds me of what I see every day in the grocery store. Just today, I was behind some old lady. I thought, "wow, what a cool old lady!! She has her cash ready and everything for her purchase!"

Then, when it came time to pay... she had to argue with the guy for 5 minutes about $0.17!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm not shitting you!

"I specifically asked the produce gentleman over there how much these were..."

So she took another 2.5 minutes to count out TWO DIMES to pay the $0.17 she owed on top of the cash she had out!

There is no argument to say why seniors shouldn't have to take periodic driving tests (the same test 16 year olds take). It inconveniences them? TOO BAD, I'm sick of being inconvenienced by THEM.

I'm not referring to seniors who aren't senile or anything...I have nothing against old people!! My old man is 65+ and is on medicare! But the day I find out that he can't drive for **** anymore, I'll be saying he needs to get the driving test as well!

Fixed.. that'll be $700

Seriously.. sorry granny hit you.. Check around the forums here, and in your local forum section.... you may find an SB owner that has replaced thier stock front bumper ... and get a great deal.. since her insurance is covering it. OR go with a kit in the front.

G'luck!

I agree on the testing of elderly drivers...my mother-in-law (83) lives in
Tennessee, no test...last week she backs her Cavalier out of her driveway,
hits the USPS mail truck stopped in front of her neighbor's house...
No damage to her old tank, bends the door of the mail truck so it
won't open anymore...doh!

arrgghh! dude i got mad for you when i saw the thread title - i remember seeing the pics you post a couple days ago and already someone managed to f it up for you - sorry about your baby man. at least no one was hurt and she missed all your cf.

on a side note - i couldnt agree with you more about seniors - although there are many who dont have a problem driving - there's a majority that do, and it's not their fault, as speeds and the amount of cars on the road increase, their ability to react and notice decrease - it's just the mechanics of the body. but to hit while you're honking when backing up is not excusable and the fact that she refused to exchange info with you is outrageous...

anyways, glad all is repairable and no one was hurt.

I know how you felt wanting to beat the sheet out of that old dirt bag, but the four people who saw her hit you would witness you decking the old broad and you'd be the one going to jail. Lets see, jail and a felony record or hassle. I'll take the hassle any day. Sorry, it doesn't make it any easier to swallow. Glad you didn't get hurt.

Never good to get hit. On the other hand it looks/sounds like damage was confined & relatively minor.

Actually, most of that damage would probably buff out except for the hole.

I know exactly how you feel, I was rear ended twice on the same road going to work, luckily not in my Z. The first time I was hit by an older lady driving an escort. I got out of my car raging, but then I saw her behind the wheel grabbing her chest and I felt bad, so I took it easy on her. Too many people these days that don't pay attention.

Major suckage! Old people think they can do anything just because they are "old"...*sigh*
I totally feel you man. My car got hit in the school parking lot just 2 weeks after I picked it up. Of course that A-hole didnt leave a note nor money on my windshield. Not as bad as yours but still a noticeable scratch and din...1 1/2 year later...its still there.

BTW, nice lip
