Default 2 Things that would make the Z look better...

i like how the Z looks...

but as days go by... two things that concern me...

1) I wish, from side profile, the rear (BUTT) gets shorter by 3 inches.... it needs to be shortented a tad to look better.. currently, the rear looks stretched a tad too long..

2) I wish the tail lights are 15% bigger... i like the shape and the design of it... but i wish it to be a tad bigger... right now, there are too much bare space from the rear...

maybe if i wish really hard, santa might grant me these two wishes..... hahahahah...

what do you people think??

A strighter more "boxy" rear end would affect the drag on the car, the slant allows air to pass faster and more freely, creating less drag on the car. and as far as the light, I love them. I don't think anything about the Z should be changed, except a targa or t-top version :P

i didn't mean chop the rear off to make it shorter...

i was thinking more like instead of stretching it to make it longer, stretch it to make it shorter.... keeping the general looks ... just the hatch line will be a tiny bit steeper...

i don't know.. i was just thinking... it comes with my job, i guess..

I think it would look better with t-tops (as mentioned above) and TWIN TURBOS under the hood! Other than that, I like the way the car looks.

i was looking at the Z from driver's eye level and directly on.. not an an angle.. i guess the rear view i was talking about would be sitting in a Z and looking at a butt of a Z in front of you...

and the oblique side profile doesn't help because at that angle,
the butt would look shorter..

=)

no offense to the person that started this thread but, if you want to change the body of the z you are definately not feelin it. The reason why you bought the car is because of the great looks and speed. Remember no offense but the car should please you as is.

oh don't get me wrong..

it pleases me just fine...
but nothing is perfect.. (nor am i looking for a perfect machine)...

i always think there are always room for improvements..

this thread wasn't started to really complain about the shape of the Z.... i was just thinking.... like i said.. it kinda comes w/ my job....

don't worry, i believe in free speach... whether it is pro or con to what i am saying... i like to hear things that counter what i am saying, so i can try to think that way too...

but i still think the same about what i originally said....

I think the design of the Z is completely flawless, except for the water plumping and grease/water inside the doors. The car is completely perfect in looks perspective. There is NOTHING I'd change. Only thing I really wish the Z had was instead of a convertible version, a t-top version would be great.

I like the tail lights, but I wish the reflector are lit up at night as well, instead of just the triangles. But that shouldn't be hard to change, would it?

I don't think it should be TOO hard to change. I think someone is working on that now, actually. I don't remember exactly who, but I remember there was a thread on that on here somewhere.

nope while it may not be hard to change, youd have to do it yourself, cause it is illegal to not have those reflectors; meaning the company that some thought might do it, is not going to do it after all.

Default Always room for change in design

Being a person that does design, there is always room for change and improvement. I am sure that when the 240Z was designed, many owners felt it could not be improved yet here we are over 30 years later thinking the 350 not the 240 is perfect. I suggest people open up their minds to ideas rather than thinking it cannot be improved because everything can be improved.
