Default Steering wheel leather

If the leather is peeling a bit, is this covered by the warranty? Myn is not peeling but when i go on long drives, there is some black pieces of leather (almost like a rough powder) on my hands when i let go of the steering wheel.

Thanks

You can get them to replace it. Abnormal wear. I had this problem with a maxima a few years back. I have also seen it on one other Z. Mine seems to be fine.

Then answer to your question is, yes it is covered under the warranty. Unless it looks like you scratched it, then they will most likely not cover it. And yes it is repairable. My company repairs these types of thing on a daily basis. Quite a few are coverd under the warranty. Once you get it replaced or repaired be sure to use a leather condtioner on the wheel. Absolutely no Armorall or silicone products.

Just contact the dealer, both your sales person and the service writer. Explain the problem (nicely of course) and see where that gets you. It should get resolved at this point. If not ask to speak with the service manager. If you don't get the result you want, then move up the chain of command. Sales manger, general sales manager, general manager of the dealership, owner.

I really don't think you should have much of a problem.

i actually talked to the manager @ local dealer and he told me it's not covered under the warranty.
i guess i should contact the other local dealer to see if it's covered.

Told them that after 17,000 miles the wheel should not be wearing like it was. They tried to say that it was not a warranty item, but in the end they replaced it. Main argument that on a $27,000 1 year old car should not have a peeling wheel.
