What are your CAR PAYMENTS MONTHLY????
2003 Track used with 12,800 miles
29,000 OTD
$0.00 down, no trade
4.00% interest rate for 60 months
$552/month
My thoughts:::
Some people like to buy new...because they can afford it or they just do not like to buy used cars.
I purchased used because I wanted someone else to "eat" the depreciation value. I have owned my car for a year now & currently owe approx $22-23,000 on my car. If needed to, I could sell my car and make a slight profit from it rather than being upside down. Many new buyers will have to wait 2-3 years before they can say that. That is of coarse unless they put down thousands of $$$$ down. Which takes me to my next thought...
Do not put down alot of money for your car unless you have to or can afford to.
I will use my car for example so you can see the numbers:::
Based on 4.00% interest rate/60 months
$29,000 OTD
$0 down
$552/month payment
29,000 OTD
2000 down
$497/month ($55 saving)
29,000 OTD
4000 down
$460/month ($92 saving)
29,000 OTD
6000 down
$423/month ($129 saving)
29,000 OTD
8000 down
$386/month ($166 saving)
This is the way I see it, why put down $4000.00 to save $92.00 a month...And there is no way I would put down $6000.00 to save $129.00 a month. Saving $6000.00 in the bank (for your average person) is hard to do, coming up with an extra $92.00-129.00 a month is not.
I also forgot to mention that the previous owner already:
1. Purchased a transferrable extended warranty
2. Tinted the windows
3. Installed an alarm
4. Installed a chrome grill
5. Installed 3M clear bra
Saving me an extra $2000.00 or so.
That my friend is why I purchased used...And kept my $6000.00 down payment in the bank, sold my 1994 Mitsubishi 3000GT for $5400.00 & increased my bank account at a minimum of $11,400.00.
And for the "well off" people out there that might chime in...This is for your average money making person. If money is no object, hey have at it!!!!

htown hit me up w/ a PM and I can refer you to a great dealer. Walked OTD w/ new '05 Enth. w/ 7yr/100K warranty, 5yr tire and wheel protection, 5yr windshield protection (useful here in Houston), gap ins., and all the basic options (cargo, seatback, sill etc.) for 30K.
04 touring roadster @ $492 X 60 mon
I am considering buying an Porsche Carrera S for $85,000 which would jump my car payments to $1,420 per month!
I live in germany and it would be a dream of mine to own a porsche while here. Not to mention I can buy any car TAX-FREE. No gas guzzler tax, no state, or import tax. All the benefit of being a govt contractor making insane money.
ps. my salary is also tax free... all $6600 per month. ($80k)

2. 2003 Touring 5AT all options minus NAV
3. About 25,500 OTD - 6 year 78,000 mile $0 deductible warranty
4. About 3,000 down
5. $410 a month for 72 mos. at 6.9% (extra 1% due to the 6 year loan)
Here's my deal, my dealer thought they were selling me an Enthusiast, the sticker price was 25,800 with 14k on it, then I worked them down to 23,885 and bought the warranty knowing all along I had to jump on this car while it was still around. It is a Touring, I have every Touring option and I even found stuff from the previous owner's lease saying Touring INSIDE the car!!! I got one over on Nissan.
