Default Lack of Manual enthusiast models in So. Cal dealerships=(

Hi, planning to buy the Z within two weeks.
I'm aiming for either white or silverstone enthu manual trim, but...
I've been doing dealer inventory search on Nissan's website, and I cannot
locate any PPW/SS 6M models ANYWHERE within 50 miles of Los Angeles.=(
They're all stinkin' autos sigh...
Is it cuz dealers sold most of their inventory and are waiting for 06 models to arrive?
I don't want to get a base trim...you get so much more with enthu for little more money

I heard on these boards some time ago that production of ATs were going to be prevalent over the MTs due to numerous demand factors... Why don't you place an order for precisely the Z that you want?

A friend of mine was looking for the exact same model... PPW Enthuz 6mt. He still hasn't found one... apparently, Enthuz 6spd is the most popular model.

I had the same problem. Looked and looked and looked and by the time I gave up, I could have placed and order and waited. But I was tired of waiting and ended up getting a (lightly) used one.

I don't know if there is any truth to it, but the salesman that sold me my 6sp said that only 1 in 50 (2%) of all Z's that come off the line are 6 speeds. I couldn't believe it.

hahahah.... ohhh man. I've heard a lot of lines from sales people before, but this one is quite possibly the most absurd.

If it takes more than several month, I rather wait for 06 model=(
But I want that sucker SOOn..sigh..
I'm actually leaning towards getting a base model and upgrade(Xenon, Al.pedal, etc)

Thanks for ur reply guys~

enthu in 6mt is a popular combination...if you can't wait, i would settle for another color or try looking for performance model

Placing an order is easy enough as going to the dealership and stating that you want to order an '06 (what you stipulated)... you then give them your requested specs, etc. Be aware that the dealership might require some sort of deposit though in order to place the order.

I'm not sure how long ordering times are now (for me back in Feb '03, it took about 3 months or so)... if you're going for the '06, your wait might be some what longer depending upon when the '06s hit the showroom...

You've already stated that you want all the amenities included with the Enthusiast model, so you're better off spending that extra $2K for that... don't settle for what you really don't want

It's gonna take you 3+ months to get your car if you order precisely the Z you want. Seeing as how production of 05 models are winding down, the chances of the Z with the specific options that you want being built out of the factory are slim to nil at this point. I ordered my 6 spd Daytona Blue Enthusiast back at the end of April and they still haven't got a VIN number for my car yet so even I'm not very optimistic. I believe they won't be able to place the order for you until the first 5 days of every month anyway, so that just means another 3 weeks wait before they put an order for you. To place the order you'll need a $500 deposit as well.

Expand your search by more than 50 miles.

When looking for my 03 I looked at the inventory in 75% of Cali dealers. Finally found what I wanted in Visilia.....300 miles away. Bought it.

You can expand search by entering different cities in the search function.

Don't settle for a Base; just toooooooooo many goodies with the Enthusiast.

My dealer didn't have the PPW enth. 6mt that I wanted, so he pulled out a list of inventory and no 6mt enth. at all!. Of course he took me to their warehouse lot to double check and whattaya know I found a SB 6mt enth. and some other colors but not PPW. Keep looking because if the dealer really wants to make a sale they will find one. Good luck!

gsazabi,

I ran a quick search on nissanusa.com through LA county, and:

VIN: JN1AZ34D05M608239

Power Nissan El Monte
3428 Peck Rd
El Monte, CA 91731
Tel. (626) 350-8868
Fax (626) 582-4937

or

VIN: JN1AZ34E55M652357

Performance Nissan
1434 Buena Vista Street
Duarte, CA 91010
Tel. (626) 305-3000
Fax (626) 303-3350

They both have 1 PPW 6MT Enthusiast. Check them out!

Go through Chris Lujane, Jon Montgomery, or Vincent Santos at Power Nissan they're the internet fleet sales guys, and great guys to deal with and who I'm buying my car from.

Wow thanks for all your help guys=)

Power Nissan and Performance Nissan both are relatively pretty
close to where I live~I will definitely give them a call!
I'm just waiting for my soon-to-be-trade-in (my Altima)
to be done with minor repairs, and hopefully next week I will
go check out the Z!

Btw, I was thinking about Black Performance for $31,700, would that be a better choice?
As long as it's PPW, SS, or SB I would be happy with my purchase~

I went through the same ordeal finding a Daytona Blue 6SP Enthusiast or Performance and finally located a Touring in San Diego that had a $2000 dealer discount putting it within my budget.

Their inventory shows PPW Enthusiast with $1500 discount for $28830

Good luck finding what you really want, it's worth the effort in the long run

Depends on what you want, and what you can afford. If you're planning on modding your car with aftermarket rims & interior, I don't see any reason to go up to Performance other than the VDC, and its' not like it rains or snows here in S. California.... Go with PPW or SS, SB only if you want to put up with the dissapointment that after a car wash your car can get dusty and dirty again within an hour. Also ask the guys at Power Nissan for Out the door price, they were good in giving me invoice price right off the bat for a quote unlike other dealers I dealt with.

the online inventory searches are HIGHLY UNRELIABLE. After doing several online searches and calling the corresponding dealerships none of them had what was indicated on their websites. You have to just call them. I just picked up a 6spd enthusiast model in silverstone last week at Performance Nissan and I remember seeing at least 2-3 more of the exact same config there. I'd definitely recommend calling Performance Nissan, Power Nissan, and Cerritos Nissan. Let me know how much you end up paying for yours, I paid 30500 out the door.

Hey thanks for your advices ActionJackson=)
Ya I will settle for Enthu, chances are I will slap on some piaa Super Rozzas
and some interior update as well.
I'm leaning more towards PPW or SS definitely.
