If it's just a few states away, it could be fun to take a road trip with one of your friends to go pick up the car...
just an idea.

I just had my car shipped with Hilton Auto Transport(a broker) a couple weeks ago. They were the cheapest I found, but cheapest for a reason. The first trucking company they sent ended up having a messed up on-ramp, and couldn't get the car on the truck, and I couldn't get Hilton Auto transport to answer a call for anything. Eventually they got a new trucking company that was excellent, AAA Auto Transport that got my car from Florida to California in five days. They called me several times and made me feel comfortable with their work.
If you can go through AAA Auto Transport without going through Hilton, I would recommend them. Coast to Coast for $800

Look for a freight forwarder, make sure you buy shipping insurance, where are you picking it up? Might be cheaper to do the run. Commom its a Z its meant to be driven.
