Brickyard or Liquid Aluminum. They only ran one year each, 2003 and 2004 respectively.

PPW has been around since the inception of the Z, Lemans ran from 2003-2006.

Liquid Alum.? Honestly, I cannot tell the difference between all the silvers & greys. And they're the colors I see most often...are the silver/greys rare where you live? In searching of my DB, there was only 2 within a 75 mile radius of San Francisco with MTs and both are base. I, now, have one of the two. EVERY other package and trim was availible in somekind of silver or grey. In fact, some dealerships had multiple cars of the same package in silver/grey.

Statistically, the single year colors are going to be the rarest. After the initial year for them, the oldest are going to be more rare as some are eliminated by wrecks and repaints. San Marino Blue and Orange may be rare now, but IMO by Summer SMB won't be..too many raves about it. I think interlagos fire will be the rarest as not too many were sold and the cost to repaint them the same color is already very expensive.

For the record, I attended a Z club meeting, and there were so many silver Z's that I had to use my key fob to identify mine.

Clearly I need to mod my exterior more.

I happen to see a lot of PPW were I live, which is very sunny. Maybe there is a coincidence of bright colors going with sunny places because they reflect the UV rays from the sun and don't get as hot as black or darker colors. I know thats the main reason I buy my cars white; UV reflectance.

Around here it seems more like

80%- all the silver and grey colors (sorry forget the name the all look the same after a while.
10% - Daytona blue
5% Black
2.5% lemans susnest orange etc.
2.5% all the others.

I'm a hardcore lover of all things "Z", but last week I had the chance to stop by a local dealer. In person, Solar Orange is probably the ugliest color I've ever seen on a Z. And I've seen a LOT of Zs painted all kinds of colors, from 240's all the way through the 350's. I don't know what Nissan was thinking with this one.

First one I ever saw was white. It had to grow on me....

I'd say the rarest to me is the Brickyard

I had a Brickyard and people used to ask me if I had my Z custom painted. I think I've only seen two or three other Brickyards in the Bay Area and we have a lot of Zs. I've seen more UYs and IFs here than the BY. I'll tell you this though, when I had my body kit added, the paint shop had a tough time matching it. Apparently, it a mix of a few colors and getting the metallic flake density to be even with the rest of the car was hard.

A lot of the Z colors are two and three step paints. A local guy with Liquid Aluminium had a minor accident that scraped a small spot on his rear fender. The shop all but told him that the only way a fix was going to look right was for them to repaint the whole car. It was going to be impossible for them to match the factory paint job. That lead me to believe that they were going to paint it something that resembled L.A. but it was never going to be a true L.A. paint job.
