What is the rarest color that all of you have noticed on the Z> Le Mans Sunset??? Pikes Peak White??? Silverstone???

Probable LeMans Sunset since it's the ugliest (according to mainstream folks). The color reminds me of bad clothes from the 70's.

Around here, I would venture to say it's PPW or Brickyard.

Pikes Peak was the rarest.... there was a post on the breakdown.
LeMans Sunset was 4th..... Silver, Dark Silver, Blue, Orange, Black, Red, Brickyard and PPW - I think that's right.

LeMans is a pretty nice color... currently it's abou a 4 out of 7 agree that it's a good color decision. =)

According to my little sampling of 272 Zs in Florida.

Chrome 30.15%
Silverstone 13.97%
Black 12.87%
White 11.76%
Blue 9.93%
Sunset 8.82%
Redline 7.35%
Brickyard 5.15%

A while back a guy named Brackethead put together a survey and these are the results of his color survey:

Brickyard 24 5.7
Chrome Silver 103 24.47
Daytona Blue 49 11.64
Le Mans Sunset 37 8.79
Pikes Peak White 26 6.18
Redline 12 2.85

it definitly isnt anything silver, silvers account for like 60% of the Zs out there.

Looks like Redline might be the rarest, if my survey is truly representative of the buying public and not just the online enthusiasts.

Silverstone - 28.3%

Chrome Silver - 27.3%

Daytona Blue - 13.0%

LeMans Sunset - 8.5%

Super Black - 8.5%

Brickyard - 6.5%

Redline - 4.1%

Pikes Peak White - 2.7%

Default PPW and REDLINE

I always assumed the white, redline and brickyard were the most rare, but I keep hearing how the white Z's are very popular in Japan. Does anyone have numbers for Japan?

Since the snow has hit in the Northeast, I think sales are a bit slow, so inventory is growing. I stopped by a Nissan dealership (Kelly) here in Boston, and they had two redlines, three pikes peak white, two chrome, one black and one silverstone. Of course even with that many on the lot they were not negotiating price. I was just there to get an upclose look at the PPW for my own consideration. One of the white cars was sitting next to route 1, and it did hide the salt and dirt relatively well.

When I showed the picture of one of the pairs of white and reds to a coworker, he was shocked and remarked how great the redline looked and that he did not know that they were made in red. Of course this immediately becomes his favorite color for the Z and is now harassing me to get mine in redline.

In this post and the followup I will throw in two small pics of the two pairs of cars.

Thanks for the props, nosuchsol...

Sampling was actually around 320 cars (based on the VIN Soup data)

Based on that, brackethead's numbers, and what people have seen, I agree that PPW, Redline, and Brickyard are the shortest ordered colors.

Of those, I think PPW is probably more common than the other two. The data does not support this, but I've heard more people claim to have seen a PPW 350Z than Redline or Brickyard.

now in 2007, what is the rarest color to find a Z in? Is it brickyard? or Liquid Aluminum, or Interlagos Fire? anybody have a breakdown of all of the colors ordered within the past 4-5 years

PPW is one of the most common I see...rarest around here are LeMans Sunset, Brickyard/IF and Ultra Yellow

^^^ Wouldn't it be fair to say that the "one year" colors, i.e. Brickyard, Ultra Yellow, Interlagos Fire, ect., would be exceptionally rare?

liquid alum
yellow
Brickyard.
