Get an enthusiast model for around $28,000 and throw on some sort of FI, ST or TT. and have a BEAST for around the $35,000 price tag of the 35th price.

I have the Track Model, and I like it just as much. Saw the 35th Edition at the Nissan Dealer, and we talked about it. Needless I am very satisfied with the Track. Also have the NISMO CAI and a f-e-w other things. But It's up to you what you like. All e50Z's are the Boss in my book. Especially when there's a few mods added, rather it be engine or body or interior, or just stock. I had the 260Z, 280Z and now the 350Z, inbetween a Nissan KingCab 4X4, Pathfinder, and Porche 911. I'm Nissan type person, particularly a Z person all the way. Although, I personally prefer the manual, as a sports car, it's what you want. We only say what we like.

in canada, the manual and the auto is the same price.... i bought mine for $52,098.00 w/navigation + taxes and insurance.. i meant my dad bought it for that price, but he bought it for me.. that was what i was meaning to say

Not in canada.. it has the regular 287hp... not the 300hp, but it has the same apperance.. get auto, its just 13hp... add an intake or exhaust or something to make 300hp.. simple

Buying the Ann is a no brainer in Aus, its only a couple grand more than the 287hp Track model

We only get manual Ann's though

I drove back to back and coming from Euro cars preferred the Ann. The engine just felt alot smoother, especially at high rpm. And yep i agree, as a base for modding, with the stronger internals, you should be able to run a bolt-on FI kit with a lot less sleepless nights

And yep i like the wheels too, everyone thinks theyre aftermarket. That being said, if anyone offers me money for them, ill happily upgrade to 19" LE37s

I got the manual 35th Silverstone as well. There were only a few in the SoCal area when I was buying, and have yet to see another 35th on the road (unless they swapped out the wheels with something else).

I agree with you, it would have been nice to see them badge it a little bit different. I see other Silverstones all the time, but they usually have the stock/standard wheels on them, so the 35th's wheels definitely make the difference in the looks area.

I could put $7000 into <insert car here> and make it fast. *shrug* For the money, the 35th is a good deal in general. Not everyone cares about having the fastest possible car they can get... theres more to enjoying a car than raw speed IMHO. For me price wasn't an issue, the 350 in general is so reasonably priced I really didn't care about cost. I simply bought the car with the most options I could get. I actually leased mine and the residual was so much better than a new Touring model costing $4500 less MSRP, the payment was only $35~ cheaper per month than the 35th. That was a no brainer.

someone told me the 300 hp engine is slower because it lost 10lb of torque is this true?

he said 0-60 5.6 instead of the 5.4 regular one.

If we are talking a $35K price tag, it will be difficult to find a car like the Z with forced induction. I agree that you could stick $7000 into anything and make it fast. With that said, that $7000 is better spent on FI IMO than on things like electric seats and navigation.

After putting a TT kit on my car, it has completely redefined what the car is all about. There is absolutely no comparison between extras on the car and feeling that the turbos give when hitting the gas. It is not all about the raw power with the TT kit. The car is just so responsive and the power is so smooth. The feel of the car is heads above what it was in stock form. It is actually smoother with the turbos than it was stock. This is not only my opinion, but the statements from all those that went for a ride.

If one were leasing the car, I wouldn't consider FI as it wouldn't be worth it when not owning the car.

In the end, it's not my money, so get what you want.

Anybody care to comment on this question? I have read that the 2006 model will have the 300HP power plant, so I am guessing that it is the same one as the 35th Anniversary.

Question is, has any body driven both the 287 vs 300 hp version? What do they think? Should I wait to get the 300 hp version (roadster) or should I just get the last 2005s?

I don't disagree Zivman, but I have no desire to modify a car again. I want my warranty and I want to be able to walk away from it in a few years when I get bored and want a new toy. This made the 35th by far the most logical choice

I've driven both, they feel similar in general. Personally, I'd wait for the 300hp version. There were some fairly siginificant changes/improvements to the engine... it's not just a "tweak". From a quick search (and compliments of zand02max) the new engine has:

Continuously Variable Timing (CVT) on both the Intake and Exhaust Cams
New shorter, wider intake
New Bottom End (Revised pistons, rods, etc.)
New ECU Mapping
Higher Redline stock (7000 vs. 6600)

If you have the means to get this configuration instead, I would. I won't fool anyone, I got it out of dumb luck, lol.

No, only the 6MT is available with 300hp. AT has the standard 287hp.

$36,799 for 6MT, UY, 35th Floor Mats, Cargo Package, Alum. Kick plates, side and curtain airbags and carpeted trunk mat. I've added tint and splash guards along with a K & N air filter. I am considering a Nismo cold air intake, but will keep any mods in the Nissan family of parts.

$34,800 approximately. However, I purchased it through their VPP program http://www.insidenissan.com/ the login for the pricing and plan information is vendor/vendor. This program is only applicable to companies that have a working/vendor relationship. It's also cool cause the price is fixed, no haggling. It's like $200 or $300 under dealer invoice. Anyway, good luck.

I just got back from driving from SoCal to the Laguna Seca race in Monterey this weekend for the MotoGP race. Took the Z. It was awesome out on the Pacific Coast in Big Sur area.

I think you can get better pricing than $300 under invoice without the VPP program. I got mine for $900 under invoice. I knew how much they were making on my car.
