I am going to buy a Z when I get back from vacation, July 9th, I like the 35th Anniversary edition add-ons ( wheels, brakes and aero) and my wife like the interior and the Silverstone color. I want the auto so my wife can drive it once in awhile without her freaking everytime she has to come to a stop. What do you think of the 35th and what do you think a good price is? Any comments would be appreciated.

 

I'm not sure you'll get the wheels and brakes with an auto. Previous years, the auto did not have VDC or 18" rims, and I don't think the Brembo brakes would clear the 17" stock rims. The easier thing to do would be to teach your wife how to drive a stick!

Fair price? Find a friend who can get VPP (Nissan employee/supplier) pricing for you.

In Canada the auto transmission doesn't come with the 300HP engine but does come with the 18" wheels. Seems kinda a waste to get the 35th without the 300HP. Go with the MT then the 35th is great.

 

YES the 35th Ann. AT does comes with the Brembos and the 2 tone leather and 300 HP!! I seen it myself when i went to the dealership. It had the wheels and everything.

If you have the money to spend on it then go for it because it does look real nice with the new rims and the upgrades. If not then just get a AT Touring.

 

Thanks folks. The dealers around here seem to have overstocked on the 35th so I am hoping they will still have to many when I get back and will be willing to deal. I know the AT comes with the 18" and Brembos and the two-tone leather, not sure about the 300HP seems to depend on who you ask. The wife has a problem with the clutch and brake at the same time seems she can't remember which one to push when. Seen her drift thru stop signs to often to try to teach her, might ruin the marriage but she wants the Z too so I can't disappoint her

 

Yes. Leather + Brembos. Nuff said. Brembos should've been an option on the touring, damn it.

 

I think realistically the 35 anni is going to have similar resale value compared to the touring. In other words, it's a waste of money. Still, unless you had your heart set on the track edition, the 35 anni is the coolest choice. Great looking rims too.

 

personally not worth it, but that is MY opinion. prefer to go with a cheaper model and mod it and in fact get all the things you are wanting and more for LESS money and get the satisfaction of doing some work on the car myself. either way, just get a Z and drive the heck out of it!!

 

Worth every penny. The car looks beautiful and has the upgraded engine. I paid $35,500~ for mine which included a dealer-installed Nismo intake. If I were to buy a new Z tomorrow, I'd buy the same car again no question. There are pics in the link in my sig.

 

I purchased a 35th Anniv (silverstone) and love it. The thing I liked, is it had all the accessories on it that I wanted (Brembos, wheels, aero, leather, plus all the little misc options) and the 300 HP, though it is down on torque from previous years from what I understand. The deciding factor though was the price, I was able to purchase the car for $34K through their Vendor Purchase Program, being Nissan is a customer of ours. I got the 35th anniversary 6MT (see link in sig), but modded it already. I think the 35th is a great car if you're not going to mod it...it has everything. But if you are gonna mod it, then may I suggest something that costs a bit less since you're gonna swap out the parts anyways. I just liked it cuz of the new engine and 2-tone seats.

Oh btw...for the 35th...6MT has the new 300hp engine, while the 5AT has the original 287hp engine. And the 2-tone leather is only available for black and silverstone 35th anniversary Z's, while charcoal leather is the only choice for the Yellow 35th.

The dyno sheets I've seen have a flatter/longer torque curve on the new engine and seem to produce at least the same amount as the original engine. It seems to me 260lbs might have been a bit of a conservative rating. Hard to say for sure though, obviously dyno results vary...

 

If the car is for you then NO AUTO!

If the car is for the wife then get an Aztek.

 

I've seen the '06 and there really isn't that much difference with the '05.

My choice was easy. I didn't want to pay to have the brakes added and buy stock wheels that I would change out within days. There are some of Track model parts on the 35th Auto - as an example I understand it has the lower air plemun - but not a whole lot.

287 vs. 300 horsepower didn't mean jack to me.

 

have to agree with paul...i just picked up my black auto 35th anniversary Z about 8 hours ago and it is awesome. no complaints here...the car is everything i could want and more. even if you have to order one and wait a little bit for it, it is worth it.

 

I have a SB 35TH as well and I think its only worth it if you think its worth it. I paid invoice for it and Im very happy with my choice accept the fact that it didnt come in Daytona Blue. I also have mine modded as well and this 300HP engine definitely responds better to mods then the 287HP. Im happy with my choice.

 

i have a manual 35th silverstone (which i believe may be the only one like that in North Carolina) and absolutely love it. The special rims, to me, seem to be just the perfect match for the silverstone. I just wish Nissan would have done a little more to "badge" this vehicle as the 35th Anniversary. To the average person, it just basically looks like all the others.

 

I love the wheels on them.
