Default Selling My Z???? Need Help!!!

Yeah I'm going to be selling my 2004 Base Z. I going to get the new 2006 Lexus IS 350. I dont know if I should sell my Z with all the mods or take everything off? I have only 3700 miles! I have a $6000 custom stereo, $4000 rims, custom katskin leather seats, Injen Intake, Magnaflow exhaust, K40 Laser Detector, Street glow undercar kit and some other little stuff. What should i do? And how much should i sell it for?

From what I've seen, it's hard to sell a modded car. At least it's difficult to get out what you put into it. People don't have the same taste as you and may be turned off by some things and just love other things about it.

Pull the major stuff like the sound system, wheels, K40 and sell them separately. You'll find somebody to give them a good home.

While you might get 1/2 of cost of the rims and stereo if you pull it and sell it seperately, you would probably get far less with the mods included.

From past experience, pull off anything you can and sell seperately. You will lose your $ selling the car with mods.

Yes, pull the intake. Not sure about the exhaust. Is it a complete cat-back exhaust system or just a magnaflow muffler that replaced the stock? A complete system might be resellable.

You could probably get $100 or so for the Injen. Don't know about the Magnaflow as I'm not familiar with it. As Chicken pointed out, you can probably get about half of what they originally cost. A lot depends on supply and demand.

bigpapaluzz - it's a shame that you don't have Nazar's sidebox, I'd buy it from you.

damn, with all those mods and low mileage your Z is the king!!!! Why do you want to downgrade??? I'm liking the new IS too but it won't compare to your Z. But if you have kids or something then I can understand.

Take off what you can get off the car and sell it separately. You won't get your money's worth when trading or selling the car with the mods on it.

e-bay them, run an ad, trade for other stuff, etc...you'll be buck$ ahead by doing so.

bigpapaluzz,

When is the IS coming out? This August? My wife is looking into the same car. Any price you think the IS is going for?

First see if you can get any great offers with the car as-is. Start it at 25,500 OBO [you will NOT get 25,500 though, that`s the reality]

Then if you must, part it out and restore to stock. Then you`re looking at under 23k

Good luck

Just wondering why you are selling your car and especially with such low mileage and so much $$$ spent on the Z??

Well I love my Z. I love everything about it, but I live in Connecticut where it rains somewhat and snows a good amount. I tried driving my Z in the snow, forget about it! I knew this when i bought the car, but I wanted it soooo bad. I need a car with the same performance as my Z but with all wheel drive and looks good. Not a ugly STI or Evo.
