I just got notified by my dealer that my Z has been built and is on the ship from Japan. They expect it to arrive at the dock in LA harbor on Dec 10th. What i do not know is how long it takes to get from the dock to the dealer, then to me. I live in southern calif if that is a factor. The dealer said they have not been given a Vin # yet but expect it within the next couple of days.

I know many of you have been in the same situation I am in right now so give me your best estimate.

if it comes into a california dock(which it should) Id say you should have it in your driveway on the 17th perhaps, but it should be a xmas gift for sure. assuming the dealer is correct, he should have a vin by now...

and of course, assuming he doesnt "prep" it for a week, some dealers hold the cars on the lot for people to look at(ussually from afar, they wont touch your car or anything) and then they give you your car when a new one comes in. ensures that they have a Z on the floor at all times to keep hype up and elimate people coming in to see the Z and leaving unhappy.

 

Mine was ordered on 10/3

My Order number was given to me on 10/17

My VIN was given to me on 11/19

And my current delivery date is 12/23

so right now im guessing its on the boat?

I wish i could watch it on sattelite!

 

Mine maybe on the same boat. Mine is due in southern california 12/18. Maybe it will take 5 days for it to reach no. cal.

Interesting thing is that there have been cars with VIN 8000+ here in socal. on dealer lots already.
