Fraud Help!!!
About a month ago I had my Hotchkis TVS Stage 1 kit installed... a local place, UNDER THE TABLE, for $230.00. Now, the install was completed, and the installer said to call back in a week to perform the alignment after the suspension had some time to settle.
Well, it has been a month... and this asshat won't answer or return my calls. The worst part is that the suspension is squeeking sooo bad, it is driving me insane.
In retrospect I know I should have gone legit to have the install done, but hey, live and learn.
What should I do about this guy? I definately will not go back to this place, but I want some sort of justice. Advice, anyone?!

Really there is nothing that can be done, besides scare tactics. i.e. call police, word of mouth. It was done under the table.
Consider it a lesson learned and warn people about this guy/shop
Maybe something can be done if you paid via Credit card, but you probably paid cash.

I've been told by another friend of mine that I could get him into some deep **** for under table work.. is this so? He used the company's bay time for a private venture. What do you think?
If you have any papers showing that he did your suspension set up then you might have a case. But if it's just a person to person deal then it's gonna be hard to prove your case. How much they usually charge for the installation?
No documentation. Would there have been anyway to get documentation on an under the table deal??
As for scare tactic, what would you suggest?
*edit* the shop was actually an Acura dealership!! A mechanic there agreed to do the job... after I was referred by someone on this board!!!

Sorry to hear that bro but that's a definite risk you take if you do stuff "under the table". From the sound of it, it seems like you just need more grease on your swaybar bushings which is the common reason for squeeks.
Hey dude the guy had a heartattack, I pm'ed you on the 3rd of June giving you a heads up that he was out of comisson for at least a month. Sorry that you were unable to get your follow through as I did not get mine either but I understand given the circumstance.

Why should he have to honor a verbal agreement?
Get it in writing next time, sorry but this is partly your fault.
In small claims court, he can say "I was joking, and I winked when I said I'd throw in a free alignment" and there's nothing you can say as a plaintiff.
Sorry man, but it's game over.
Edit: Just read that bit about the heart attack...well, maybe he'll pull through after all, if/when he recovers... sorry to hear what happened by the way.
I was told of the heart attack a while back, but Rick called me about 3 weeks ago saying he was going to be back at work on the following Monday, and to call to set up the appointment. I called, no reply.
I understand his circumstances and am in no way trying to be a *****, but I also want what I payed for, and at the very least an update.
But yeah, lesson learned.
