I've got the full bra: hood, fenders, lights, mirrors and paid $600. It was worth every penny. I have had a few now on various cars and have never had a problem. Make sure you get high quality material though. I recommend the 3M stuff as that's all I've ever used and have had good luck. I've seen other brands yellow/fade but not the 3M stuff. There is a company here that installs stuff that actually says "ClearBra" in the material on the hood and its HORRIBLE. I don't know who makes it but they should be ashamed. You can find a 3M installer from xpel.com.

The argument about just repainting the car cracks me up. I guess some people are ok with the car looking like hell for some months/years between repaintings. I want my baby looking good all the time.

I got a Daytona Blue Saturday. I found a place today that would do it. He said it would be $550.00 and then another $50.00 for the headlights. It is called Ultra Sheild. Their pamplet said they use 8-mil Scotchard Paiint protection film. a 3M product. That sound like what you are talking about. I guess my question is, $550.00 a good price, And also has anyone every broke a head light lense? Is it worth the $50.00 to cover the headlights?

I got the Xpel kit installed for $4**. Can't remember exactly, but it included the headlights. I've been happy with it and it has been on the car since 1/02. The job wasn't perfect, though. Had a slight wrinkle on the front bumper I never got back to the guy because I had to drive 2 hours to get the job done because nobody did it in Nashville at the time.

I don't have the covers on my headlights now because my headlights were replaced under warranty due to stress cracks. I was afraid to put covers back on because the dealer hinted he thought that might have caused the problem, and I really didn't want to fight if the same thing happend to the second set of lights.

ok, does this stuff come off, and you have to redo it every once and a while? Or once its one, its on for the life of the bumper? Sorry if this is a stupid question, never heard of clear bra before today.

BEWARE, do your homework. Installer put some small razor blade marks in my paint.

I've had my clearbra for a year and a half now (3M). Paid $550 or so for the whole front air dam, front half of hood and fenders, headlights, and side mirrors. I consider this a must for a Z. I don't have one single rock chip and you can't see the bra if your more than 10 feet away. It shines just like the paint and I wax it just like the rest of the car.

Yes it is really worth it and denpending on where you go you wont pay that much
i paid 230 for the front bumber and the guy fixed the chips i already had

If you're picky like myself....I wouldn't get it. I purchased a 3m full bumper wrap last year for $400 Canadian because I got a few chips in the crappy paint. I went for the full wrap so it would appear seamless unlike the pre-cut kits. Keep in mind mine is black. The installer was a perfectionist, but I was still unhappy. It bothered me that I could tell a big difference in shine. It was very noticeable.

I ripped it off and had my bumper re-painted with an amazing german paint with a flex agent in it (cost $300). Not one chip in 8 months (fingers crossed). I think all this bumper needs is a good flexable paint job where rocks will bounce off.

one of the best investments for the car
got the full package including headlights + side mirrors for $700
NOT very noticable
NO rock chips / scratches etc.
Go with the 3M clearbra

I think a clear bra is a waste of money... It makes one part of the car look discolored (on non-black cars) when the sun hits the paint...not to mention oils from the street during the rain that will permanantly stain the 3M film in time. For $600 you can have your front bumber repainted proffesionally two times...think about it!

Hey guys I thought I would register and pop in on this conversation. I have been lurking for a while. I have been trying to decide on what to buy, 350Z, S2K, or BoxsterS but I am also a Clear Bra installer here in the bay area. I might be able to answer some of your questions and concerns. I have had the opportunity to do 4 Z's to date.

I am using Xpels program to cut my kits and I carry both 3M and have the availability for Avery Dennison film. Avery just released a clear coated film like 3M and it is worlds better in apperance especially on dark colors, pliability, resistance to impacts, clarity, and has a far higher gloss factor as well. I have had issues with yellowing with the 3M film on white and white only so far. The apperance of 3M film on dark colored cars is horrible in my opinion. These two films are the only ones out there at this time that are what is called clear coated or top coated films. They tend to be far more durable over a longer period of time where as the non-coated films need more care and can turn dull or even fade over time, this would be LLumar and Venture Avery also carries a non-coated film and the top coated film. All of these films can be removed if necessary, but why would you except for a warranty claim. I saw someone ask what is the best film or clear bra it is really hard to say is Lexus better than Infiniti? Get my drift.

The price ranges I am seeing here are about right $550.00 to $700.00 is the norm and buyer beware this is a product that you get what you pay for. No one should ever see razor blade cuts in the paint if you are working with an installer that uses pre-cut kits. There are some guys doing this that will hand cut this on your car, this is a no no.

I like most of you are very picky and I think this is a great product. I had it installed on my vehicle before I became an installer. The Z has a really big bumper and being low to the ground does not help so you have to justify this for yourself.

LIGHTFORCE18, I see that you talked to Mike at Pro-tect films he is the man and is very knowledgeable about Paint Protection Film. Unless there is another Protect films?

Anyway, if anyone has questions please ask there is a lot of misconception about the product floating around. I am not sure if I am allowed to do this but if anyone is looking to have this done in the bay area I would welcome the opportunity and would work some special pricing for my350Z.com members.

Protech is coming out tom at 1.30 to install my clear bra. I wont be there for the install but my dad will be. Hope all goes well
