WTF, there's no need to mention a lemon lawsuit for a minor problem like this. Did you even take it to the dealer? I bet not.

Well, then take it to the dealership first of all. Trust me taking it to the dealer will be cheaper than a lemon lawsuit(which you have no grounds for one in the first place) and i bet they'll fix it under warranty

Type in "lemon" under search and you'll find out what exactly it is.

Geez, did we take our mood pill today!

Take it to the dealer. A Lemon is the same thing happening 3 times after the dealer fixed it.

Same thing happened to me but I was playing around with TCS, hasn't happened since. Someone on this site said it was the engine crank sensor or something.

The crank sensor was a problem where the sauder (spelling?) would melt thereby creating a short and fooling the ecu into all kinds of mess. From everything Ive heard and read, this was only in the low production # '03 models along with the poor tranny synchro design, tire feathering, window streaking ect...

If your car is only a couple months old, I can almost guarantee that it isnt the crank sensor.

Lemon law, as the above poster stated, is usually only applicable when the same major problem persists after numerous dealer services which supposedly "fixed" the problem.

Hope this helps, IMO you should take it to the dealer and BE NICE.

I wont try and convince anyone. Heck, if I did that, I would screw myself since I am selling the Z the resale would rop faster!

But, in all honesty, in my opinion, and I have done research for a week straight now, the Z is prone to problems. Not all Zs have them of course, but too many, percentage wise, do.

I gave Nissan one chance, and was happy the first time they replaced my tranny. But the second time, not so happy, and when the service rep told me it was the exact same model tranny, thats when I decided no more. Warranty or not, you gotta draw the line somewhere!

+1....look up technical service bulletins on the DOT website for just about any other car and you will see a few here, a few there. Now do the same thing for the Z and its like a F'in page long!! Since my car is an '03 model, Ive had a few issues. Im on my 3rd tranny, was on my 2nd set of front tires before I modded my suspension and wheels/tires. Ive had my upper links tightened under warranty and am now having window regulator problems but I just deal with it.

Yes... some people can live with it, mostly because the Z is so damn pretty and so damn fun to drive!

I cant argue with that.
