Question Help! Anyone else having this problem?

At random times (maybe once a week) im having problems with my air conditioning. Some times when I first turn on my car, if I turn my a/c on within 10 min or so it will not work properly. When I turn it on, the light turns orange and it starts blowing cool air. But within 5 or 10 seconds the light goes off and it goes completely silent. Then about every 30 seconds or so, light comes on by itself and it starts blowing air really quick, but within a couple of seconds it turns off again. It keeps doing this over and over for 20 min or so until it finally just turns off all together.

Most of the time after this happens, if I turn it off and then on again, it comes on fine.

Im confused? Almost like there is a short or something in the wiring??

Is it on auto climate control? Auto does fluctuate but not like you described.

I always do keep it on auto climate control. This doesn't eventually mess something up does it? My car has about 24000 miles so it should be under warranty. If I take it in and they say they cant find anything wrong with it (im expecting to hear that b/c I never seem to have good news from nissan's service dept) will they try and charge me some rediculous price for checking it out? Or is it free to inspect a/c since its under warranty?

See, I guess it must sort of depend on the service department. I've gotten to be pretty good friends with the guys at my Nissan and I stop by and ask them questions all the time. With factory warranty I would say that they are obliged to check it out and see if anything is wrong and not charge you anything.
