I wish i met some of those nice cops. I never been pulled over except a few weeks ago, i decided to take the inner residentail streets as i was going to work to avoid traffic. Im doing 35-40 in a 30 zone. I get pulled over by a cop hiding behind a van with his laser. He jumps in front of me as he was on foot and waved his hand in the air, i literaly have to slam on the breaks but avoid to make a mark. So he gets all my info. and papers, comes back with a ticket, and says watch your speed next time and calmy walks off. I did everthing i could to be respectful. Whatever, happens to the best of us i suppose.

I got pulled over twice in my Z and never got a ticket.

Once for accelerating fast out of a turn (I didn't break the speed limit, by much at least), and another time for hitting about 60 in a 35 down a back country road. The last time I was REALLY lucky. Both times I just got a verbal warning.

Well. Once I was pulled over in Wisconsin with California plates and noticed the cop release his pistol strap as he approached my car so I stuck my hands out the window and asked him if he was scared or something. He seemed to relax and let me off without a ticket.

Yea right man... I dont get much tickets but I definitely have never gotten a warning. My last ticket was doing 59 in a 50 mph zone no traffic whatsoever. This being on a six lane parkway I didnt think I was endangering anybody going 9 over but she gave it to me anyways. My probable guess that with Fairfax County Va not much goes on and I guess cops get bored and why not add more funds for this rich a** county? Everything is a business to a certain extent right? I've just come to accept it's just a dog eat dog world.

stories... LOL Man do I have stories...

I'll make it quick. Live in So Cal. Been pulled over for anything 10+ over speed limit to double (plus a little 112 in a 55), red light (by accident honestly), DUI stop (and I don't drink and drive), seat belt, etc... Never been taken to jail (knock on wood), but almost once.

Once asked the officer if I could at least explain... said (and I quote) "I have to take a... (slight pause as I pondered the choice of words)... a major CRAP!!" Sweat was literally running down my face and I was less than a mile from my house. He read my address (on my DL) looked at my face, handed me my DL back and said "Hall ***!!". I did just that and made it JIT.

Been pulled over prolly 30-40 times. received 10-15 tickets (been let go the rest of the time). Of those 10-15 I fought about half and have beat 90% of them. Anything from Radar, to Lidar, to pacing, and even aircraft. Even got "arrested" tossed into the back (in Wash.) then the cop decided that I was being very nice and cooperative and eventually let me go with a tow to the "nearest hotel" (a.k.a. the boarder Oregon) and away I went on to Cal. I have even had a cop walkup and say "This is a really nice car, can I see your drivers license..." I laughed thanked him for the compliment and complied. Got off on that one too.

I can personally tell everyone that respect for the man in uniform and what he does is most important. Fess up and don't treat them like they (or you) are stupid. Laughter goes a long way too. Just don’t disrespect them.

Although my last 4 or 5 I have not gotten out of them. They have been kinda grumpy lately (3 since October 04). Just fought them and beat them.

I respect the enforcement of speed etc... just hate the insurance part so I fight them.

The best part is I seem to get my tickets and loose the fight about 18 months apart. So I get 1 on my record then the second one I do traffic school and the third one seems to hit my insurance just as the first one is falling off so I can't seem to get rid of that 1 point on my record. Maybe I should just slow down... (only been in 1 accident and yes it was speed related) and I am 34.

use to drive at night alot, use to be a stop sign that merged into a very long straight road, at night you can see down this road for well i dunno good mile and a half both ways, so instad of comeing to a full stop, i did a california crawl and well i went through it at 10mph.

At night you can see whos comeing from the direction, idid see two head lights WAY at the end, i was safe and made it, well those headlights before i knew it was tailgaiting me 3 minutes later. real close too so i went on a dirt road and the car followed me, i said well dam if you wanna tailgate eat dirt and rocks so i accerated and started to fast on this crappy road maybe 25-30 on a road that maybe you should go max 5mph, lights came on and i thought DAM IT.

i was shakeing and scared out of my mind i said sorry yes i did do it, i was being stupid, i wont ever do it agian, he took my info said ok dont do it and your free to go.

LOL! Those are some stories. Anyone know the record for most speeding tickets or something?

I have luckily only pulled over for no front license plate twice.. Once a ticket, other a warning. Still no plate.

Uh huh, yeah twice. Both in the same car an x5 that we used to have. the first
time i got pulled for doing like 65-70 in a 55 and for speeding through a toll plaza.
he pulled me over and asked what i did for a living. i said IT consultant and he said
he caught me speeding far back and i didn't even slow down for the toll plaza. then
he said i could go with a warning and how i wouldn't want to lose my nice car.

second time got pulled at the Pentagon for not having a front plate on the car. i
had a bmw logo plate in the front. he said i two options, leave the plate off and
get a ticket or remove the logo plate and put the license plate on there and go
with only a warning. so i cranked out my swiss army and slapped the plate on.

I have a slightly strange story for you guys......

I was going to Austin from Houston on HW290. Ive driven this route a hundred times (student at UT). Been pulled over once for doing 80 in a 65. Anyways, lask week i was driving the Z to ATX with my girl, and was about halfway there when I see a cop headed the other drirection.

Traffic was light to moderate with good spaces between the cars. I was doing 77 in a 70 (like i ALWAYS do...). I see the cop brake and turn around in my rearview, and I think "oh sh|t, he's coming for me!".

sure enough he flashes his lights and siren and i immediately pull well off the road. i sit there with wallet in hand with hands on the wheel. he sits in his car maybe 2 min then i hear him drive off. that's it......no getting out, no talking, nothing. he just drives off and he's on his merry way. he doesnt even speed off like he has something better to do...he just casually drives off. WTF???

oh well.....that was my one in a million shot of not getting a ticket by a cop

Id totaly agree with the other officers here..

Back when i was an MP K-9 for 6 years, I rarly wrote ticket for speeding alone. (i liked to be available for more serious calls or backup)

and if i did, it was for Xtreme speed.

anyways, now i dont get warnings at all. Im ALWAYS courteous, polite, humble ect ect.
my docs in order. whats funy is i dont even have to be driving to get tickets!!

I was selling a nice subaru. 2 tickets-- selling a vehicle on public property, AND expired tags.... Keep in mind this was at the end in the Cul-de-sac. no other residences only back of a mall and not in the way of anything. i was sooo pissed.

i hapened to park the car there because i only have one space in my complex.

if i was that officer, i would have called the # in the for sale sign and told them to move it or Ticket...

but then again, im not an officer anymore, im a Truck Driver hehhe
