Default Same issues...

Have you heard back from the dealer yet? I'm taking my '03 in tomorrow for the same three things. Are you refering to the 'tikin' as when maybe you are turning and braking at low speed and it pops a little? Kinda like you ran over something?

Is your clinking coming from the front? When you turn the steering wheel at low speeds? Because mine does that and it's been worrying me. Does it seem like steering or axles? I get very slight grind occasionally in 5th gear. Should I be worried about that? I'm just afraid that if I take it in and they replace all that that it won't run the same afterwards.

I get grease on the windows sometimes too, but it's really faint, just always streaks on the inside of the windows. I have almost 26K miles so I want to get this stuff fixed before I go out of warranty. Is this all stuff I should worry about? Thanks! Later,
Fletch

Good deal! I got a call from my dealer as well, and I am getting a new tranny too!! They didn't have it in stock, so need to overnight it. I should get my car back on Wednesday, they said..

Hopefully this new tranny will fix all my grinding problems..
btw, getting new clutch too, which is good timing since I am at 47k miles!

Sounds like everything is working out so far for everyone in this post. I took mine in this morning and they are going to replace my tranny covered under the extended warranty. I have 37k miles on it. They have to order it and will get it thurs. Would the window grease issue be covered after the normal warranty is over? I'm going to tell them about the pop when I take it back in for the tranny...

Is this clinking in the steering in the front or the window grease or the 5th gear grinding things that I should get replaced? Or are they things that if they aren't bad maybe I should just leave alone?

Fletch - I've heard some take their car in to get the grease fixed. I would maybe wait until there are other problems and do it all at one time. Here is a Tech. Service Bulletin for the 'clunking' sound. http://www.infinitihelp.com/Ownershi...es/03088-1.gif I'm going to get them to look at that. It sounds like to fix it they just need to tighten up some bolts.

As far as the gears, mine got worse over the last 6 months. Mine was 3rd gear so I noticed it more than if it was 5th. At first it did it so rare that the dealership said they couldn't get it to grind. Now it does it every 3rd gear shift above 4k rpm. What might make you feel better is that the tranny is covered up to 60k miles.
