Default To Clear Bra Or Not?

The front of my car has some chips from driving (to be expected). But it has started to bother me, and I am thinking of putting clear bra on, but I'm wondering do I need to repaint the front end before I have this installed? Will the chips show thru the clearbra, and look bad?

Thanks Guys!

If you have front end repainted, you won't be able to put clearbra on for 30-60 days. The paint will be too soft, so you better have a 2nd vehicle to drive in mean time.

ummmm, yeah, the chips will show through...its "clear".
whether to put the clearbra on before repainting really depends on how badly your fromt end is chipped....for example, i had about 4 chips on my front bumper when i had it done. the chips were pretty small, though, so you couldnt hardly tell that its there

THIS STATEMENT IS NOT TRUE....I HAD MINE REPAINTED THEN HAD IT CLEAR BRA'ED THE WEEK AFTER WITH ABSOLUTLY NO PROBLEMS...IF THE BODY SHOP BAKES THE PAINT ON ALL YOU HAVE TO WAIT IS 2 WEEKS...MY FRONT END IS BEING PAINTED RIGHT NOW AND I AM GETTING THE CLEAR BRA INSTALLED 2 WEEKS LATER

BY THE WAY IT IS WORTH EVERY PENNY...JUST MAKE SURE THE SHOP YOUR GOING TO IS VERY GOOD AT INSTALLING

really!? cool, I was waiting to get a 2nd car before putting it on. Well I'm gonna go ahead then.

BTW, stop with the all caps, it looks adolescent.

I don't know about LA but in the bay area I get a lot of that yellow sap or bug droppings. This stuff sticks like crazy to a clear coat even with wax.. I haven't really found a solution yet. One can't see the spots very clearly on my brother's silver G35 but on my white Z it sticks out like a yellow blotch. I've noticed that if I wash the car within one of two days of the droppings they will come off with only a hint of yellow and fade out quickly. However, I wash my car only once every two weeks if i'm lucky. Anyways, I think it's worth it if your paint is protected and I'm sure the color will fade out after more washes and sun.

+1 I wish I'd installed it sooner. Make sure you shop price. I had quotes from $400 to $850. I covered the nose and front of the fenders, door sills, mirrors, windshield pillars and header. It didn't cost that much more.
