Its not even a track model.... [rant]
Wow, ignorance is bliss. So lets see, the track model has rims, brembo's and tire heat pressure or something like that where as the Enthusiast doesn't. So get some bear breaks and volks and BAM, the enthusiast is better. IMO it's worthless spending the extra 5k r whatever on a track when im gonna change the breaks and rims anyways. DURRRRR.
I already said so in other trheads..
track model is ONLY a NORTH AMERICAN BRANDING NAME
it ONLY defines a series of options (Brembo + Zero Lift aero + Rays...)
There is NO SUCH thing as different 350z models... there is only ONE 350z. Base, Enthusiast, Track, Performance, etc..are not different models, they are only branded, pre-defined option packages for north america (actually the USA, Canada has yet completely different option packages).
In europe, asia, and the rest of the world there is no such thing as TRACK 350z. For example, all European 350z come with LSD and Brembo standard, ray wheels, leather, bose, etc.. are options. So in Europe you could have a 350z with brembo, leather, bose and stock 18"wheels.
The only substantial difference is the 2005 track who has an exclusive different engine... the rest are only options.

I've tried to set the record straight a few times, but someone recently really got to me. I was pulling out of Wawa down the Jersey shore (think 7-11) and I usually get a few "nice car" comments or something like that, instead I get from 2 ****** walking next to my car: "its not even a track version, that RX-8 will smoke it". So I proceeded to brake torque it up and light them up all they way down the street. Non-track owners...do you feel my pain? Or am I just retarted?
The ONLY thing the RX-8 will do is START smoking from the engine b/c its engine just gobbled up all the oil after a drag race....BAHHAHAHAHA!!
I owned a 2nd Gen RX-7 (1991 Model)....all that BS Rotary Engine did was slurp down oil like there was NO tomorrow!
Just for kicks...do some research on the RX-8....You see that it heavily consumes oil and gas...all that and only 238 HP.
The '05 Track has a higher lift cam and variable valve timing on the exhaust valves (in addition to intake, which is standard) for an extra 13bhp. Plus it has upgraded pistons and rods for a 400RPM higher redline and a lighter crank pulley. Unfortunately, the peak torque takes a hit from the hotter cam so it only makes 260 vs. the standard 274 lb ft. Most tests have shown nearly identical times (read "it's a driver's race").
So it depends on what you like... high end power or more punchy torque.

A 05 Track is faster than a Base,
A RX-8 is a very close match to a Track, on a track,
An STi smokes us all...

Track model's advantage is that it saves 8 lbs per rim (less work for engine to turn each rim). The 5.3 sec (Motor Trend) and 5.4 (Car & Driver) times were all recorded on Track versions.
BUT a BASE 350Z will still smoke an RX-8, so who cares?

The track model is actually the heaviest of the coupe models, if I remember correctly. The weight saved in the wheels is subsequently lost, and then some in the bigger iron disc brakes and larger calipers.
With the fiberglass and the turbo kit, I've stopped counting. My car is a fat pig.

when i take my z in to the dealer for service, i occasionally go look at the zcars on the lot and chat with the sales people. even they don't know much about the differences btwn models.
