I had the Z8....not him. Try driving around some high-end cars. People hate you from the get-go. I figure f-it. If they are going to look at me like I am wasting my money then I am going to look down on him for the same thing.

May I ask why you have a Z8? From what I understand there are so many better choices for supercars.

Honestly, the car was supposed to be for sale a long time ago but I can't let it go. No car I have ever driven gets the looks that this car does. It's not a Z8 now mind you. It's an Alpina Roadster. Full Alpina package....it's a $30K upgrade package to the Z8. They were only made one year. Having something that only 555 were made and for one year only is good enough, but the fact that almost none of them made it to this country is even nicer. No one knows what they are looking at. It could have more power but it's one of those cars you drive nice and slow in so everyone can see. Customers ask if I can get them one and just the fact that I can say "dream on" to a millionaire is a nice thing.

All these SUVs is why we have high gas prices. Come-on - who needs to drive a 6 ton vehicle back and forth to work getting 16 MPG? I know someone who pays $150 to fill their tank twice a week so they can get to work.

I asked him why he has an SUV and he said because he has to transport a lot of people. THen I asked him how many times a month he does that . . . his reply, once a month. Its just wasteful.

It goes to show that Bush and cronies only care about big oil and not the environment or protecting the consumer (after all, that's where their money comes from.) If they were serious about conserving oil, alternative fuels, and getting us off the saudi's teet, they wouldn't subsidize SUV production ( you do know that american automakers get kickbacks from the governement to make SUVs - what does that tell you?)

An SUV is the anthithisis of the fat, lazy, ugly american - who butt and stomach is too big to fit in anything else, and drives down the road holding a can of pringles in one hand and a McDonalds BigMac in the other.

Just try to ignore this stuff. There is plenty of real problems in life ahead not to be getting upset over insensitive people. The Z is a great ride, but there are other vehicles for other people.

As for this thread. Generalities about GMC trucks are probably just as annoying to people who own GMC trucks running 350s that are reliable, easy to repair and easy to buy parts for. My brother in law still drives my 87 Suburban, original 350 motor, transmission and axles, but I did have to replace the gas tank and exhaust. He uses it to transport his wind surfer in the SF Bay area.

Generalities about gas guzzlers are a bit short sighted since the Z is no gas miser around town. My wife's Highlander gets better mileage in the city than my Z so my Z is a gas guzzler compared to her SUV! So a Z calling a SUV a gas guzzler is a bit like....

+1 It's a MAJOR pain in the azz when a big MF Monster SUV (Hummer or even Expedition) parks next to you....you gotta worry about those doors smacking into your Z....and backing out is truly a BEEEYOTCH!!

One thing I do in that situation is hit the horn a few times to alert pedestrians and other cars....then back out REEEEAAAAL SLOW like Grandma.
People love to race thru shopping plaza parking lots for some reason

Also, if you have the choice of pulling forward to the space in FRONT of you in a parking lot, you can just pull right out, instead of backing out....I know..sounds obvious....but some ppl don't think of doing that sometimes.

Right on, I've eaten at both Norms, the one on beach blvd and the one on katella. Looks like we all like lots of food for a cheap price.

To the guys from Orange county, CA. Let me know where I can find an 03 DB Touring with low miles. Mucho thanx.

Ok, Greenpeace. You are way off base on this one. While I don't particularly care for super-sized SUV's...you need to go on a fact finding mission. The system used to determine what car makes of cars that car makers actually can make is much more complex than the government cutting a check for the manufacturers that make them. Give up your tree hugging ways and do some research. Oh, and guns don't kill people...people do. That will be the last of me discussing anything political for the foreseeable future. At least until somebody else goes off on a tangent.
