Default What's a more worthwhile mod, Sways or a LSD?

Considering the Hotchkis sways as a local vendor is having a group buy and install day. Looks to be $300 installed.

If I get a LSD, it will probably be the stock one. Certainly not the best there is, but probably good enough for my needs. I've read posts of buying the part used and getting it installed for around $500.

I don't think I'll track the car all that much, but a track day or an auto-x may be in my future. Most of my spirited driving will probably be done in the mountains.

I'd say sways, you will notice it a lot more in casual or spirited driving...

I've asked this before to no asnwer back. Are sways just for handling? To give you better cornering?

If I get the Hotchkis then I would have to get the McMaster Carr Collars right? How easy is it to install the sways? Does anyone know any installers in DC suburbs area.

I was told that you don't need the collars. I was told this by someone who owns a shop and tracks the car normal they said that they do not move if installed properly. It was the company who was selling them for $275 shipped, but forgot the name. I have since installed mine, put about 4000 mile on them and they are in the exact same position as when I installed them.

they limit body lean in turns and offer resistance to weight transfer from the inside of the car (during a turn of course) to the outside
