I don't understand why people think the G35 costs so much more than the Z. Maybe it's simply because it's an Infiniti. Obviously the Z has a wider range of configurations to allow you to buy it cheaper. But if you order them similarly equipped, the price difference is so close that informed buyers have a difficult time deciding which to buy based on their wants and desires (performance/weight vs. nicer interior/sunroof).

So true, when we looked at both, the price diff seemed so insignificant esp like you said with all the diff trims, options and such. esp with the ZR and 35th/track, all that ignorance goes out the window. Poor mans G is also completely comical, guess they dont have a clue on what 35yrs of the Z or Z in general means?

IMO some of those infiniti owners got raped at the dealer and didnt even know it, hence why they think there car is soo much more expensive, hmm lets see 45-50k G35 coupe? you know what? mabey their right.

 

I've never seen a G35C go for $50K. My local Inifiniti Dealer, Charles Barker, was even willing to sell end of year '04s last December a few hundred over invoice. They aren't doing that now, but I'm sure as the model year comes to a close they will drop prices again to make room in the lot for the '06s. Even if you pay MSRP, a fully loaded G35C goes for just over $40K. Now I could see if they charged more if it had AWD like the sedans. That would make it an all-weather car. I'd be willing to pay extra since I could get rid of my sedan that I use in the Winter.

 

Ive been dogged many times by civics, integras, evos, STIs, i mean whatever street racer is looking for some beef has given me a dirty look. but to tell you honestly, the lotus elise has **** on us. my friend has a lotus elise and i beat him by 3 cars from a 10 mph rolling start. Lotus Elises might smoke us in handling and all, but when it comes to power, the lotus' 190 doesnt compare to our stock 287. i beat him 4 out of 4 times when my car was only 2 months old stock. now, with a plenum and popcharger, i'm not afraid of him at all. take my word for it. next time u see a lotus elise, give him the look, downshift, and teach him that the 50k+ he spent on that go-cart wasn't worth it at all.

 

I don't get compliments and that's the way I prefer it. I drive the car, wash the car and all the rest for myself.

Sure I enjoy talking to other enthusisats at times, but say you drove an exotic. If people constantly came up to you compliment or talk about your car, it would get old pretty quick.

 

It's cool that you beat an elise, but I'd readily admit a Lotus elise is superior to a Z.

The way you speak of the elise is probably the way a civic or something of the like thinks of the Z....

havent been hated yet, just today at walmart this guy drives by and yells "that thing is awesome" as i get out of my Z, i give him the thumbs up and carry on.

love my car, i love others cars too, only thing i dont really like is civics with a fart sounding exhaust with zero modifcation but just that exhaust with nothing to back it up.

I do get upset when i hear RICER, sorry but my car is JAPANESE MUSCLE hahah nah well it aint rice thats for sure.

a few comments ive gotten in my 04 g coupe 6spd-

- someone asked me what the car would cost and then told me my car was cheap (in a derogatory way)
- someone else stopped me at a gas station to tell me there was a convert. version of my car around (i ignored him after that)
- people have said its slow because its not turbo,etc

Yesterday i was sitting at a light and some dude and his gf pulled up next to me in a mustang. The dude was totally mad doggin me like ooo look at my hot mustang or whatever those homos think to themselves. The light turns green and i switch lanes and come up on his other side next to his passenger seat. Its another red light, so i look over and hit up the gas and let em show what im workin with. The Z is soo fokin mean sounding its a joke. The girl looks over and i blow her a kiss. She smiles and the guy driving hits her in the arm and starts yelling at her! I couldnt help buy chuckle inside.
