Default Some A$$ keyed my car......

So I woke up this morning to a nice white key scatch down the driver side of my super black Z. You can imagine how I felt. ( especially after waxing it over the weekend) I have had the Z for 3 months and already have had a nice door ding and now this crap. Has anybody out there had this problem and how much do you think the cost would be to fix a keyed up door???

Man that sucks. I got door dinged hard the other day and my passenger side rear fender looks like someone hit it with a hatchet. I was pretty pissed and I still am...

Hand? Please....try dick. People that are that kind of a degenerate should not be allowed to procreate. I just cant grasp how someone can have the audacity to vandalize someones property like that. Anywho, sorry to hear about this Surf. I hope you can get her fixed. Is the key mark down to the metal or just through the clear coat?

Get a Compustar alarm and add a prox sensor. If anyone goes near your car, you will know.

What kind of neighborhood are you parking in? Call me ****, but even though I live in a townhouse in a somewhat good neighborhood, I set up a wireless web on my network and set it in my 2nd floor office that over looks our parking spots. I figured hey I already have the network and router installed why not just add a camera? It will record at night in case anything happens. Anyway, I know thats ridiculous, but if some punk kid in the neighborhood gets drunk one night and decides to **** on or key my car, it will take about 15 seconds to have the cops arrest the right guy.

Does your webcam have some kind of night vision capability? I would be interested in doing something similar at my apartment complex...but I'd be concerned about resolution, the ability to see sufficiently well across the parking lot, and of course the ability to see at night.

What brand do you use?

Ya, I was thinking the same thing. I'd have to find a wireless web cam with some low light or night vision capability. I could pop the camera up in my kitchen window of my condo and have it watch over my Z.

Mine does not have any sort of lowlight capability, this is a very basic one I got at Staples to test and see if the concept would work. I am lucky in that I park right in front of my townhouse and there is a streetlight two spots away. Seems ok so far. There are a couple more tweaks I would like to make, but I believe they do make lowlight cameras.

Here are a couple of articles I bookmarked on lowlight camera tests:

It sucks, and in my case, it is even dumber.
My Z is always in garage, and I hit the driver side rear fender when I open the
door of my other car parked next to my Z.

I really don't have any enemy's that I know of except an ex-girlfriend or two, but I'm sure it was some jealous drunk ***. I park in a nice apartment complex in a nice neighborhood so I guess i'm going to have to look at some alarm systems or the camera thing. The key mark looks like it's down to the primer.....i don't wish it on anyone.

to the metal huh? that absolutely sucks- happened on my Mazda 6 2 months ago; the bodyshop guys said "dude, someone was really pissed off at you; thats pure hurtful"

if someone does that to my z when i get it, i think i'd be pissed... but it could be a lot worse... a friend of mine got the windshield wipers ripped off his 05 Z by some random guy outside a club...

we found out who it was though... lets just say superglue can do miracles...
