C&D testers are bad drivers
I wanna know how C&D got 14.1 out of the new Z. Come on, guys are running 14.2-14.4 with a FWD 6 speed Maxima STOCK. I am willing to bet that with a good driver with some seat time and a broken in engine the 350Z will be good for at least 13.7. I am planning on trading my 2000 Maxima in next summer for a 350Z Track, so I better see some good times by then
FYI....I dont know if this aplies to the 350Z, but on the 3.5VQ in the Maxima a HAI intake is good for 10 FWHP. Also, I would think that the Maxima UR UDP would also fit the 350Z. With those 2 cheap mods the 350Z should be pushin 300 Crank HP.

Also given that it was a pre-production car, maybe they were given certain constraints from Nissan so as to not break it. Given this maybe they didn't run it as hard as they could have. I dunno, just a thought.

If they're bad drivers, maybe they hired Bronxwarrior to test the car for them. He's just trying to get the best of us for dumping his *** out of my350Z.com.

Car and Drivers writers are the ones that actually test the cars, not any special test-drivers. I say they should stick to writing. They initially gave the S2000 a 1/4 mile time of 15.1 in august 99, then they eventually changed it to 14.4 and 1/2 of the other magazines out there are reporting 13.9-14.2 now adays. It puts things in perspective for you.
I still believe the 350Z will be a high 13s car, based on the trap speed alone, the 95 LT1 Camaro pretty much had the same specs (weight/horsepower..) as the 350Z and it ran about a 13.6
You can take that to the bank.
