Angry F-ing car got broken into!!! I wanna kill some one...

God someone broken into my celica... but didnt even take anything!!! They tried to take the shitty head unit, but couldnt even get it (f-ing amature). Im glad that it wasn't my 350Z though. But now im going to be paranoid about my 350z. I had just recently had a post about tinting my windows because of security, Now i am going to have to buy a alarm system. I want the best i can buy. I don't care how much it costs, which one should i buy? Hell if i could get one of those african alarms that chop peoples legs off, i would!

Broken glass

Had to f-ing scratch the interior!

Viper VX 791 2 way alarm. If alarm goes off, the remote goes off as well to alert you.

I figure i am looking at $250 in a security system (either compustar 2WSS-A or the viper 791) Which one is better?

How much does installation usually cost, another $250? How hard is it to install myself?, i know car audio installation and am very good at learning how to install new things. I just don't want to f-up my car in the process.

Alarm ain't gonna do nothing. All it is, is a loud whistle. Even if your car has an alarm, that is not going to stop them from trying to brake into it. Even if they don’t steal the car they are still going to damage it by trying to break in. I don’t know about where you live but in So. Cal, car alarms go off all the time, day and night. It’s so common that most people are immune and simply ignore them when they go off. I’ve even remember one time when this guy down the block from where I live must of have set his alarm to extra sensitive or something because it keep going off, multiple times every freaking night. A week or 2 later, his car got smashed up. Windshield, hood, roof, and driver side door panel were done. The damage was so bad that it looked like this car had flipped over. Word was going around that apparently someone from the neighborhood did the damage because they couldn’t sleep at night, due to the alarm constantly going off, and decided to take matters into their own hands. Hell… even I had that idea a few times when that damn alarm woke me up in the middle of the night.

Sorry for the rambling but what I am trying to say is save your money and invest in a good insurance company. Because whatever happens, the insurance company will take care of you. And if you can afford it, pay a little more and get the low deductible. That’s your safest bet.

Ive always thought it would be awesome to put like a electric shocker on the door handles. Cuz they always check if its unlocked or they break the window reach in unlock the doors and then open with the handles. Haha. Just a thought.

I totally agree with you fucnkrazy, but haven an alarm thats loud is still better than the stock alarm even if it means forken over $500.

zrausch, i wish they had those, but in our stupid country if we had those the thief would sue you for damages and emotional distress after being shocked...

Also i forgot to add that i was parked in a well lite place, there was even a camera on one of the nearby lamp posts (the police will review the tape and contact me), there was a freaken nice s2000 and a newer accord parked next to me that didnt get touched.

Get the Viper/Clifford with a keychain pager, then add GPS and cell phone capability. It's about $1k installed for all that, but if your serious that's about the best you can get non-custom. (There's bunch of more elaborate stuff you can do too).

Problem is, let's say I drive to a football game or something. Even if the alarm calls my cell phone, I probably can't make it out there in time.

If someone wants your **** they will get it. Better just to ride with someone or drive your other car (wish I had one!).

I've got the Compustar alarm. It is better than the viper, especially if you have a 6mt, trust me.

I agree that after a while, even with the remote pager, you tend to get lazy. Right now I only end up going out to check on the car if I don't hear anything loud outside at the time.

It can't hurt, though. Most theives won't risk setting it off if there's even a risk of someone within viewing range of the vehicle. The bright blue flashing LED doesnt hurt, either.
