nice tip link, id love it if people would follow that guide

Man that line pisses me off.
its was a single campus delivery, and his pizza was there in under 25min. Aslo on campus, we have to use our own cellphones to call them so they can come downstairs(campus policy, we cant go up). It usually means we have to wait because they are not considerate. had a girl take 10 min to come down from the second floor and then stiff me, i was pissed. I had several other orders to take out, and she made them later than id wanted.

We dont have a delivery charge, gas is upi to 245 for premium!

ive had a guys pizza to him in under 10 min, he still gave a shotty tip, It was my last run of the night at 3am!

Yep, the concept of a tip being based on the quality of service is pretty much history. "I'm a waiter, I want my 15%" is pretty much the norm. For delivery drivers, especially with GPS and the likes today, I tip a flat rate of $2 unless it's crappy weather, then I'll tip $3. I don't tip more for "larger" orders either, unless they have to make multiple trips to and from the car to deliver it.

Unfortunately, just like most of the customer service in this area, about half the time our order is either wrong or missing something, in which case, they got $2 when they should have gotten my order in their face. It's a freakin' pizza. If you can't verify the order before you walk out the door, then you don't deserve a tip...that's part of your job.

I feel your pain, i dont tip for bad service. I understand if the pizza is late or the store messed up the order. I dont tip as well when my drink stays empty for a long time. But when i do tip, i tip well 20-40%.

You build a reputation. There are several addressess that i know dont tip. They also enjoy a slightly colder pie that at 45 min old. Then there are the ones that do tip, they love their hot pizza when i get it there in 25 min. It goes both ways.

Ive been stiffed by hot young girls, old people, rich people , poor people, people in trailers. But ive also been tipped by poor people, people in trailers and foreigners( and the rest). Yes foreigners! mexicans and indians tip! they barely speak the language but manage a buck or two.

If you read that site that king tut gave, it has alot of information and things to think about.

one time i delivered close to 40 pizzas to a college basketball bus (read wake forest) and they stiffed! it was a special occasion and i had to unload all the boxes onto the bus. In the HEAT too!

Yea I hear people complain about tips on every forum I have ever been on. I get the feeling unless I am tipping 50%+ they will never be happy. Even though $1 for a $8 pizza is pretty lame... would you have been happy with $2? or does the 20% rule no apply here?(yea I think 20% is the new 15% by the rumblings I hear from the waitstaff community)

Its gotten to the point where I don't use delevery service anymore b/c I simply don't know how much tip and its worth saving $5 to me to simply go 1 mile down the road and pick it up.

+1. I have seen people walk out(J Walking) in the middle of a busy street, and cross. When they see the cars coming they don't even hurry across the street. They'll just look at the cars like, "What? Don't you see me walking across the street?" WTF. By the way, it's always some stupid low life degenerate, thug lookin' idiot. Last time I seen this it was a family of thugs walking to the bus stop. They all had their do-rags on(the ones that look like panty hose). They actually took their time crossing a four lane MAJOR street. All the cars had to stop for them. I bet if someone would've ran over one of them, they would've been crying lawsuit!

would you have been happy with $2
yes, it would have covered my gas and left me with a dollar and change

19mpg for 2.45 a gallon equals ~13 cent a mile, 6 mi round trip = 78 cent, leaving me with 22 cent! yeah!

I agree with you. Tipping is a joke in America. Everyone has a tip jar out now. It's rediculous. What's even worse is that it makes you feel obligated, because if you don't tip the worker usually gives you a nasty stare. Here in Houston, even the register person will have a tip jar. I mean come on! Workers that are making at least minimum wage get no sympathy from me. It is not my fault that they lack the education to get paid more. It should be an incentive to find a better paying job. The only time I tip is when the service is coming from some type of server/waiter that has their wage capped at a lower dollar amount than minimum wage. What I tip is strictly based on service. I never just "tip" 15%, because they are a waiter and I should feel obligated to tip them. If I recieve crappy service, I won't tip. If I recieve ok service, I give an "ok" tip. If I receive excellent service and attention, I tip very well. Same thing goes for bartenders. I usually tip $1.00 every other time I visit the bar. I see no reason to tip a bartendor 1 dollar for opening my beer. I'm already getting raped on the 4 or 5 dollar cost of a beer. My 2 cents.

We don't all have those as it is a west/mid west thing although I had my first one when I went up to Wisconsin couple weeks back and it was better than any frozen boxed pizza. Here are the states with stores:

You've just got to really watch your temper. Even if the other person is in the wrong just be patient and let them get out of the way and then leave slowly I guess. It's always someone elses fault especially when you do anything but just laugh to yourself about how stupid people are.

you drive a car that most people think is out of there price range to deliver pizza in... you must get alot of bad tips. look ive waited tables for years and still do for spare cash and i always tip 20-25% when i go out, but when i see a tip jar at starbucks i laugh. if you make 2.13 and hour yes you deserve a tip but 6.15 thats bs. Pizza places dont deliver in my area because it would take forever to get your pizza in this rural area but i would still tip the guy even if he did show up in a 350z.
