so heres the deal, i deliver for a local pizza chain. Yes, in my 350z. The work pays for the car so my parents dont have to, and i enjoy driving it. Plus i had the job before i had the car.

but people these days....theyre retarded

so its tuesday, a slow delivery day because of all the local pickup specials. I get a single to campus for a whopping 7.55, so im not too thrilled. plus i have to travel through the downtown area (one road, very slow) to get where im headed. I make the delivery and get a dollar, thanks buddy. So im on my way back. Our downtown area has 3 stoplights before your out. It also has several nice crosswalks, and signs saying to stop for pedestrians in crosswalks (not j walkers btw). Also the speed limit is 25mph, which is kinda fast( i think). I drive rather slow because of the transition between asphault and the brick crosswalks is rough, and with my stiff suspension you feel it all!!!!! Plus its nite, people are drinking and they love to dart out.
To continue the story.... im coming back through downtown, doing maybe 15 and slowing for all the crosswalks. I slow down real good for the normally busy one, as i pass it im in 2nd. well i see this lady that appears to want to cross the road. So i anticipate braking. Shes in black and has her back to me, and not in a cw. She is extending her hand and calling to her little girl. As shes doing this she just steps out into the road, so i pretty much stop and ds to 1st. as they cross i hit the horn(short beep, not even elongated),to let them know, hey im here, watch what your doing. It upset me that she didnt even turn after i honk the horn. So i hit the gas and accel to prolly 25 and leave the area and go back to the store. The guy(presumably husband) pulls out of the area he was illegally parked in. It was an extension of the sidwalk in brick, not a parkin spot for sure. He follows me to the store. As i get in and goto the counter he comes in and ask my manager if we have a driver in a red 240sx. manager replies yeah! immediately i know whats this about. I say really fast that " she did not look, she did not check traffic!!" (repeatedly) as he tells my manager that i was flying through dt and honked my horn at his wife/daughter while they were crossing. I explain my story to the guy but he leaves. I go out to the parking lot, he had me blocked in and still couldnt tell what kind of car it was. I tried to get his license plate, already had the model. My manager wasnt upset about the dt incident, only that i was at the counter yelling at the moron (not even a customer). I wanted to talk to the guy and explain a few things:

1.yes i hit the gas hard, its not illegal(didnt even squell tires, vdc was on), i didnt even speed.
2. my exhaust is loud. lound exhaust does not equal 55mph!! in 1st gear
3. i didnt redline, not even close!
4. if i had been flying through dt, his wife would be in the hospital, and his kid dead9sry its the truth, my front tire woulda been all over her)
5. speed limit was 25, yes its fast for the area, but its legal
6. his wife was j walking, between two crosswalks within 20 ft of her
7. he was parked illegaly, not even in a real spot
8. his wife did not check traffic, had her back turned, and was wearing black
9. i was getting off work soon, we can take this elsewhere


am i overreacting? i tried finding him afterwork, he prolly ran home

was he overreacting or just being a dumba5s?

 

You deliver in your car? , no offensive, but you should a beater that gets better gas mileage w/ regular unleaded and you could afford both with the money saved from gas. How many miles have you racked up on the z so far?

Customer or not...potential customer, maybe. They're always right. Even though we know they're not. Look at it this way: If that was your business, would you have reacted the same way? (People have a tendency to talk about bad experiences more than good ones. Think about what he is saying to his friends and family, about "his" side of the story.) Just my opinion...

miles, i have less than 25k and its a 03.

soon ill be commuting 60 miles a day for my new job. Its a car, put miles on it, use it, drive it, its whats its for.

as far as a customer standpoint,i hope he never orders from my restaurant, as well as for his family and friends. hes a douche! he prolly hangs with the people who talk on cell phones while driving, change lanes and bout run ya over. go the speed limit in the fast lane. turn left across three lanes of traffic. pull out in front of you in a hurry but go slow. run red lights. dont notice the green turn arrow till its yellow. and more.....

 

There's a whole world full of A-holes out there, if you let the little ones get to you, the big ones are gonna give you a stroke. Take it easy on oblivious women who walk out into traffic without looking. If she keeps it up, she'll get the front end of someone elses car, and that will be that. (not that I wish that on her...)

 

Can you possibly space your sentences,

 

America has some spoiled pedestrians. They should change the laws that the cars have the right away, that'll fix the BS and force pedistrians to look BOTH ways before crossing.

My parents taught me to look BOTH ways.............. Can't seem to understand why other people don't do the same.

 

as far as delivering in the 350z, i get a lot of compliments. Also theres a guy at
another chain that delivers in a acura cl? tl? 2.0. and brand new hondas, its just how it is. and even in an eclipse spider.

On another note, HTML removes anything more than one white space between words, so even if you double-space after a sentence, it's going to show up as a single space once your browser is done with it.

For example I put 10 spaces between this star * * and this star. Only one space shows up in your browser.

 

About 14 years ago, I was making deliveries for a fund raising group for a living in a black excellent body conditioned 1977 Porsche 924. I bought an old Datsun beater truck for that task but always ended up driving the Porsche which only lasted 1 year, then that was that, no more Porsche motor. A piston poked a nice 1" hole in the block and spewed oil and smoke thru the hole in the block. Funny thing is after that it would still technically run but sounded oh sooo not good. I never made enough money at that job to keep up on the maintenance, let alone feed and put clothes on my back lol.

Was a low point in my life to say the least. Much $$$ happier now.

Some of these people here take the "pedestrians have the right of way" deal too far. They need to spend some time in a few south american countries.

I think part of the problem is that, even though you honked your horn as a friendly warning, the average person's connotation of hearing someone honk at them is "FU, Get out of my way moron".

The husbands first instinct was to go into protection mode for his wife & kid, even if they were in the wrong. So things got overblown & exaggerated.

Man that line pisses me off. Tipping in this country is a joke because everyone expects one when few actually deserve one. If you are making at least minimum wage for non tipped employees, then I don't feel sorry for you. It is your companies job to make sure you are compensated which is why most places charge delivery fees now and pay drivers for mileage and such.
