Post your most embarassing moment in your Z
Mines was on a busy intersection. It was a red light and i was the first one in the front.
I decided to make a grand appearance and i stepped on it and as i was turning, shifting into second as i press the accelerator 3/4 the way down my car started fishtailing 55 degrees all of the sudden and barely recovering from that maneuver. I almost shat my pants too. Did i say this was on a busy intersection with a whole buch of people watching?
2nd time was taking a date out
I live in Central Florida so i am not a real experienced parallel parker. So i go to this nice place where im desperately looking for parking. I find the perfect spot down the main avenue. A whole bunch of people around and the spot was right in front of a dine out restaurant. So..I begin to make my unexperienced maneuver as EVERYBODY in the dine out restaurant is watching. I also did not want to curb my wheels. I tuned in the spot. As i see i did not fit i reversed again turning my wheel and attempted to get in the spot more and as i reverse i get close to the car in back of me and I HIT THE CAR. I look at the people in the dine out restaurant and they were going crazy. Turns a group of the people watching me were the owners of the car. I ended up parking and nothing happened to the cars. But as we got off the car the looks/laughs was the most embarrasing thing i have experienced. Then again i just laugh

HAHAHAH...
WE all know about the massive blind spots on this car and she's a fatty to parallel park. The night before a hot date, I actually went hunting for a street full of cars parked and practised parallel parking for 15 minutes - just in case I had to do it the next day. HAHAAH
this has nothing to do with the Z specifically, but when I was first learning to drive stick, I was driving my stepbrother's POS truck. Well after a couple hours, I was feeling fairly confident and took my stepdad's porsche boxter out because I wanted to get a feel for driving stick in a sportscar.
I spent like 4 hours driving around, but one time I was driving through a fairly brand new neighborhood. I did the whole thing where you practice getting the car going, then stop, then go, then stop, etc.
Well I was so focused on my driving that I was in the neighborhood and just decided to do more of that. So I stopped. Then I realized I stopped right in front of this house - there were no other houses for a couple more lots. So I stopped in front of this house totally alone by itself.
There was a dude in his garage with the garage open. Realizing this was sort of weird to just have stopped right in front of his house being that there weren't any other houses for a good 40 yards. It was also at night and there weren't street lights up in the neighborhood yet. The guy just stared at me probably thinking I'm stupid trying to show off the power of the boxter (ha)
So anyway, I realize it's a little awkward, have a moment of slight anxiety, and in the process of trying to get the car going, I end up reving the engine.
then I take off.
so to this guy's perspective, I drove out specifically to his house, stopped, reved my engine at him, then left.
not the funniest thing or anything, but I thought it was kinda funny at the time just with how awkward it was

Yeah what a lame J/K
once I was in may dads frontier and them *****es are sensitive. well anyways I was trying to get used to driving stick uphill from a stop. So as I go to take off the car stalls and I start to roll back pretty fast because this was such a steep hill. I had a brain fart an couldnt react fast enough and I almost hit a parked car. HAHA imagine that hitting a parked car

I think I have one of the more embarrasing stories, but it takes a bit of setup. A couple years ago I had just bought a brand new 03 350Z. My only problem was I didn't know how to drive manual yet. So after a few days of practicing I think I finally got this manual thing down. So one night on the way back home from a buddies house I stop at a red light right next to this chick in a red Saturn or something, can't really remember. She smiles over and kinda revs her engine; I did the same. So I figure I am going to show off a bit and really take off hard. The light turns green and I punch it...only problem is I dropped the clutch too fast and stalled!! I swear I could see her laughing her *** off as she drove off. I was so embarrassed!!

well i got a story too. i have an 04 350z w/ 19" c4s and lowered with eibach pro kit springs and one day i was going to my friends senior talent show at el monte high school around 9 at night. so i was driving into the parkin lot and to enter you have to go over 3 large speed bumps. so im angling my car trying so hard not to grind the bottum of my car and i go by the 1st and 2nd one okay. this is all while about 20-30 people are standing around. so i see the 3rd speed bump which looks a bit larger and i go for it while trying not to stale and look like a dumbass. so i angle it even more then before and go slowly and the bottum of my car starts grinding hardcore on the speed bump and everyone is just like OHHH!!! and i was so embarassed i went slower and my car began sitting on top of the speed bump rockin back and forth .... man that was embarrassing then i gased it a little more to get away

I'll hate myself for doing this later but for now, here's a chuckle for you all at my expense...
Of course, this may apply to any Z, or sports car, owner.
Do Not Air Up Your Tires (I was testing different tire pressures and how much a hot tire would increase in pressure in prep for a Track Day), Turn Off Your Vehicle Dynamic Control and Hammer It In A Corner.
All you'll do is leave little rubber donuts in the road as you circle round and round and round...
I had no idea where I was going, when I was going to stop and whether or not I was going to hit something. I was just simply a passenger. Power on opposite lock didn't help, power off braking didn't help (it was too late for that...I was already into my second 360 - thinking "Dang, this thing swaps ends QUICK!") and I realized the true worth of a limited slip diff vs. an open diff. I have two other cars with true posi-traction diffs and was so used to driving them tail out (with proper tire pressures) that I forgot I wasn't so equipped in the Z!
Luckily, nothing was damaged and no one was hurt. The only bruise was to my ego.
LaterZ!!!

Im sitting there with my thumb in my azz and every single girl turned to see who said it and there I was. I will get him back one day.

Aw man, speaking of that blinker and embarassments:
I once had it on for an hour straight without even realizing (on 95). My dad was tailing me and kept flashing his lights, yet I had nooooo idea what was going on. Until of course, you know, I look down and there goes my blinker. Not too bad, but man, they can make that thing a TOUCH louder!
Some embarassing moments...trying to parallel park and just giving up after the blind spots chewed me a new one. I ended up just parking in some lot a block away and walking. I was PEAVED.
Another deals with the test drive. I stalled coming back into the lot trying to park. Oi.

I got a couple, first one in the Z was day 1, minute 1 of owning the Z, dealer brought it out and left it running, after a couple of pics (my first new car), and some words I hop into my baby for the first time. Dad and dealer watching and "clunk"... I stall out. Also done this on a few occasions, sitting at the drive-thru window still in gear I let my foot off the clutch fast to get my wallet, thinking I'm in neutral and get a violent stall out. One time it happened was right after a cute drive-thru girl was complimenting the car. "wow, nice car" me: "thanx" CLUNK!! me thinkin: (just give me, my food so I can drive off in shame)
One time I was pretending this parked Z was mine, standing by it and talking on the phone like I was important, even though there was no one on the other end, then the girl came out and asked me to get away from her car.
I can't believe no one has done this yet. In my Altima...the engine was sooo quiet..a few times I didn't realize it was already on. I turn the key and hear that bi#tch squeel in pain. Thank God never done in my Z
