Default is this really good news? not really...

I rec'd my notice yesterday, and I have an '04 touring. I don't think I'm affected but am still cautious. have 18k and the rears were replaced and the front have slight wear on the edge, possibly due to cornering.

other than nissan indirectly admitting something is going on with the tires by sending th letter, what is actual 'good' news. Nissan simply extended warranty which replaces tires and accepts a partial burden for the cost based on the tread wear. The root cause is not addressed and nissan didnt state they will fix it for those affected. The symptoms are being addressed but not the actual problem. Am i missing something?

I got it yesterday also.. but it doesn't do any good to me, since I have aftermarket rims and tires already.. they want you to return it to factory condition before take it in for warranty service.. where am I gonna find factory wheels/tires? oh well..
