Default oh my god! Problem!!

today, i got my second oil change from a family friend at 68000 miles. Last oil change was by nissan repair itself at 3500 miles. Anyway, i brought it to my fam friend mechanic and he sed that i had a about 1 quart left of oil that was takin out of my car... i was like, " what the f*ck!!!, hows that possible?" He sed that if i waited a day longer, my engine would have got ruined badly due to no oil. I told him that its prolly cause i drive like a maniac!! and doing 140 MPh in the highway but still he said, it doesnt make any sense. I told him that mayb theirs a oil leak but he sed, "naw, its fine, no leak." OK!!, its either nissan maintenance f*cked up and descided to get cheap with the oil. Stupid me never checked the oil color and everything and just descided to change the oil because the oil warning light comes on and off. I have 6800 miles on my car now and my next appointment is 7000 miles. OK!, i got my oil changed sooner than expected!! Anway, i just want to warn you guys about this and not make the same stupid mistake i did.

I've noticed mine uses a bit of oil and I keep a close eye on the oil level between changes. And I don't let my dealer dictate to me how many miles there should be between changes, either. Yeah, that dang dipstick is hard to get in and out but it's a small price to pay for the peace of mind knowing you still have oil in the engine!

i wish you would sell your z. you are not mature enough to even check the oil level periodically. try this:

yeah the oil gets used up fast in this car - another reason i'm buying a larger oil pan

should check it about once a month

don't believe the temp gauge on the dash - that's just coolant temp

did you ever notice the oil presure gauge not being too high?

this is why I'm getting an oil temp gauge. It's the only real way to know how hot your oil/engine is.

OMG...thats hella fugged up....a bicycle!! LOL x 50 !!

But seriously, like other peeps have said, you should check the oil level (and other fluid levels) on a regular basis.

Question: Was the Oil Pressure Gauge showing a nominal reading with 1 quart of oil left in the car??

Wouldn't it read low pressure if there was only a quart left in there.

I gotta check so many times that I carry 2 bottles of mobil 1 in the trunk because it drinks so much oil (no sign of leak or blue smoke from tail pipe). I go through atleast 7 quarts a change. I've become a master reading that dipstick.

Default ok!!

well im mature enough to have the money to pay for the car on my own... the oil gauge was close to half way and it looked normal but out of nowhere, it dropped really low and it was all of a sudden!... I mean, its my fault and all but im not used to changing car;s oil every 3,000 miles u know.. but u learn from your mistakes and hopefully this doesnt ever happen to me and to any new Z drivers.

Don't drive 140 without checking your oil and tire pressure, at least.
