OFFICIAL 2006 350Z Changes & Photos
As promised, the Sport Z Magazine article below describes the changes to the 350Z Coupe and Roadster for the 2006 model year. We’ve also included in this post one of our exclusive shots of a 2006 NISMO 350Z. For the largest photo library of the ’06 350Z on the internet, including close-up shots of the lights illuminated and detailed gauge photos, check out www.sportzmagazine.com.
2006 Nissan 350Z Coupe & Roadster
For the 2006 model year, the 350Z receives some welcome improvements. Bi-xenon headlights and LED brake lights are now standard. Cosmetic exterior changes--always debatable--include a tastefully revised front fascia and grille. As first reported in The Mole, new 18-inch cast wheels with increased brake rotor size (for non-Brembo® brakes) are standard on most models. All 6-speed models now have the 300 horsepower rev-up engine (automatic transmission Zs continue with the 287 horsepower engine) and all models get a new speed-sensitive steering system. Interior refinements, long overdue, include new cloth seat material and revised HVAC controls and gauge styling. The Bose® audio system now has MP3 capability and a new navigation system is available. A Grand Touring coupe model--essentially a Touring model with Brembo® brakes, front and rear spoilers, and Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC)--has been added to the lineup. Sure to please enthusiasts, both the Grand Touring and Track models get RAYS super lightweight 5-spoke forged-alloy wheels--18”x9” in front with 245/40-18 tires and 19”x10” in the rear with 265/35-19 tires--for improved handling and visual impact. We’re sorry to see the exterior color Ultra Yellow disappear, but three new colors arrive: Silver Alloy, Magentic Black, and Interlagos Fire.

glad I have what I have, I really don't like some of those changes. Some are nice, but for the most part it's a bunch of luxurious crap - i know i know "it needed it"
now you can spill your drink when the passenger closes the door

So are those wheels that look like the current anniversay wheels, going to be stock on the '06 base model?
If they are, looks like I will save myself about $2,500 on aftermarket wheels and tires.... at least for a while:-D
Actually looks like 2 versions,... one has dimples and one style doesnt. Which are the base wheels?

Will current bodykits fit the 06 style? Before this post, I was going to pick up an 05 Track, but the new taillights are really attractive (still not a fan of those overdone headlights). I was going to go with the Veilside V1 kit. Any knowledge as to if it will fit the new Zs. Also, Silver Alloy, Chrome Silver, AND Silverstone. 3 different versions of silver for 1 car .
No cassette player!?!? What am I going to do!

Now all we need is some pics of the new cloth material, unless it's that leather hehehe yea right. I'm guessing the wheels without the dimples are the base version, since they look less 'cool' as the ones with the dimples.
It looks pretty much how I thought it would look.
Hmmmm I may have to order mine in November, instead of January:-D
Can't wait to see more pics...

They did just enough to get by another year. I like the lights and stereo controls, not enough to trade my 05 in for though. I am guessing more minor changes in 07 and a major revamp in 08-09.

Kind of hard to tell from the pics but does it look like to anybody else that the rear hatch still has that little hump/lip in the sheet metal? I doubt they would have re-shapped the hatch, so a V-1 wing should fit I'm guessing.
Ok I'm done posting for a while, as I know Dave is going to be swamped with a million questions from people LOL.
