How is that some people are saying they have a delivery confirmation date and my dealer seems to know absolutly nothing. Some people are saying Sept 10th delivery while others are saying Sept 30th or whatever the date. Who at your dealer are you speaking with and how did you get the date out of them?

Here is what I learned from my dealer today via emails, and then a phone conversation.

Of the (20) preorders they placed, they did receive confirmation of "late august to mid september" for 5 of their orders. When I asked if mine was among those, they advised it wasn't, and that my car would be late November. I immediately picked up the phone and called them.

They admitted that the November date for my car was just a guess on their part - nothing from Nissan saying this.

I've heard before that dealers have recieved approximate dates for a certain number of cars. In my dealers case, it is 25% of their total preorders. I believe this. I also think some dealers may tell their customers a specific date, somewhere in that range, but in some cases I think they are estimating.

Unless Nissan runs into production problems, I fully expect to recieve my car before November. My Nissan acknowledgement states "August to October". I still believe this. Hoping for September of course, but can't complain if it's October.

So bottom line: Some people have received dates, most people haven't. Of those that have received dates, some may be estimates, other's may be firmer. Some people may have been calling their dealers weekly for updates, and if they did this, I imagine the dealers would give these peoples dates just to shut them up for awhile.
