it's possible. Consider Tien coilover around 1K and Axis 19" with tire for another 2K.

Dude save up another $1,200 and you got yourself a single turbonetics kit delievered to your door for a total of $4,200 is what I've been reading from the post of Turbonetics vs APS single turbo's. I've been having a hard time deciding on the best exhaust on the market for my car and I came to the conclusion that. I'm going to keep my stock exhaust and get the turbonetics single turbo kit. Best bang for the money instead of staying N/A. There's peeps that spent as much as 5K on N/A parts, if not more when they could of went F/I for major HP. I know there's pro's and con's when comparing the too but hell. You only live once and I want some serious power. Bolt-on's is not the way to go from what I've been gathering almost owning my Z for 1yr. Of course you have to pay for the installation and tuning but maybe looking at another 1g+. So in all maybe a total of 6k all together to be properly tune and installed. If I'm wrong please anybody with the single turbo kits correct me on installation and tuning cost including the pods for you other gauges.

JWT popcharger, plenum spacer, APex'i rev speed meter (measures those things you wanted measured-0-60, 1/4 mile, etc.), Escort Passport 8500 (or spend twice as much for a valentine one that is maybe a tiny bit better), Stubby antenna. Ok, that's about a grand, a little less actually. That's the stuff I've done. Oh, and I replaced my interior speakers which you can go with cheapo $30/pair set of 6.5s and the sound is 400 times better or you could spend a couple hundred if you are a speaker person and get really good ones. I would probably do exhaust and suspension with the rest. I'm sure you could find a way to make that all fit into your budget. That's what I'd do if I had another 2K, . Good luck with your modding!

Good luck man, I'm looking to do a couple beginning mods myself (though with not so much $$$ on hand)...it's tough, I feel your pain.

I am thinking maybe Tien Springs, not coilovers. Just the coilovers w/install is around $2500.

I'd take a set of Tien coilovers for $1K right now and I don't even have the Z yet. I saw them at near $2K w/o install. Plus if I spent that much I would go $400 more for the EDFC.

Add another $1000 to that labor and you are pretty much right.

He didnt say $4200, he said $3000, and I think having a nice set of wheels is much better then having a turbo kit sit in your room, wtf is the point of having a turbo kit if you dont have the money to install and tune it properly, and why would you want over 330+ HP and wheels that cant grip 230HP-240HP, you wouldnt be able to hit full boost ever.....you need to start thinking about what he said, and not what you did with your 3K....btw, the wheels you bought is much better then having a single turbo that you could barely afford, what happens when you blow the motor and are out of money?. Wheels are the first big investment you should do!

Also, investing in an IRA is a smart thing as well, it will pay in the long run, better yet, put the 3k to your balance, you will save alot more in interest if you pay that car off....thats like 500-600 bucks a month extra if you pay that thing off!!! Then you can stick that money into an IRA. You gotta look at whats important....

If you have no intentions of ever going FI, I would do the 3.9 gears. You can get them with install for near $1500 and there is a nice difference you can feel. You can also get a lightweight flywheel installed for $750. You can use the remaining $750 for tires that will actually hold the ground. With this setup, you appear to be totally stock and have just gotten a lot quicker. If you want to bling, put another $1000 on that get some IForged wheels. You can get cheaper for sure but if you are trying to impress people in a parking lot then that will do it. You may also be able to get some Volks and lowering springs installed for $4000.

Dude you must not be seeing the trend happening before your eyes. Peeps who have been N/A are starting to go F/I now. Single turbo kits are where it is at now. Then it's some of us out there that are tired of STI's, EVO's, SRT-4's and the list goes on driving on stock internals blowing us out with a few modifications. Just to even the odds why not go F/I vs F/I or even having a F/I Z keeping up with V8's with some engine work done to them, being able to edge them out in hoping their not spraying. For me it's not about top speed, it's about the acclearation. BTW thanks on the comment about my wheels.

coilovers aren't hard to install if you have a basic understanding of anything. Only thing that i would see anyone needing to bring them into a shop for is to get the wheels realigned after the install. just my 2cents

Thanks everyone for all of the feedback.
I have been introduced to a lot of new terms. I will be printing many of these ideas and researching them one at a time. Plenum is a new word for list of funny words to teach my 2 and 3 year old.

Also, I have posted this $3K question on 4 z related forum sites and my350z.com has had the best response and most useful information of all of the sites.

Thanks to the administrators and participants of this site! Having this site at my disposal makes my purchase that much more enjoyable. Wait... I think this could become a hobby.
