Default Mr K autographed my steering wheel yesterday

I decided to make a day trip to the Syracuse ZCCA meet yesterday (2.5 hours 1-way). Saw lots of cool cars.

Bob Bondurant was doing an interview in front of his old (TransAM?) 240Z.

Paul Newman's race car was there as well.

But the best part was having Yutaka Katayama (aka Mr. K, 95-96 years old?) get wheeled over to my Brickyard, drag himself into the car and autograph my steering wheel.

VERY COOL!

Time to get a new wheel, haha. With all that hard driving you do no way it will last.

I hear ya. However, had the steering wheel been right-side up it would have been difficult enough for us, let alone a 95 y/o man, to autograph something that low - even with the steering wheel at full height.

Ideally, I'd like to keep the signature in the car. I'm going to keep a close eye on it's condition and if it deteriorates, I'll simply order another steering wheel centre cap replacement intead of a whole wheel.

I didn't realise the '06 model was there, otherwise I would have checked it out. I only had a couple of hours there because I also had an appointment to mount a new set of Azenis RT-615 nearby.

Dude, if you keep that wheel in the car a day longer, you are an idiot. I dont know how hot it gets there, and accidents do happen (Spilled drinks) you will be kicking your self in the *** for the rest of your life, go to the dealer, and ask them to take the center out and replace it......

Sorry to be so frank, but you arent listening to anything else

I thought the same thing about jersey I got autographed my Mike Bibby, and a hat that I got autographed by Vlade Divac, I wore the hat ONCE to school, and didnt feel hot or sweat, but a small drop of sweat got really close to messing up the signature, and I did the same with the jersey, wore it once to show it off, almost ruined it. GO GET IT REPLACED, THAT GUY IS A LEGEND, AND HE IS ALMOST AT THE END OF HIS ROAD. GO NOW!!! lol

Taken from this thread.

"Highlights of this year’s gathering of Nissan and Datsun Z® owners from around the world include a track day at the historic Watkins Glen Road Course, an autocross competition, car show and an appearance by Yutaka Katayama, the 95-year old “father of the Z®” who is making his annual appearance at the event.

Katayama, who is known by Z® enthusiasts as “Mr. K,” served as the first president of Nissan Motor Corporation in the U.S.A. and was a driving force in bringing the original 1970 Datsun 240Z to the United States. "

Yeah come to think of it you should have that thing removed ASAP, I would, it will be worth the money alone in braggin rights to get that thing replaced. Hang it in your office or somethin, nice conversation piece!
