I give my Z a car wash every two weeks at this well-known hand wash
place...
As usual, I take it to the place to get a car wash...
After the wash, they have an area where the washers dry the car and detail
them.
However, that place is a bit slanted and there was Mazda 3 in front of my Z...
As I'm waiting at the lounge with my friend, this little 15year old kid
gets into it and start to clean my inside windows and interior...
And next thing I see, my car starts to roll forward and BAM!
It rams into the Mazda in front of it!
Apparently that dumb *** kid disengaged the handbrake...
I saw the whole thing happen and I was so damn upset that
they were all trying to play it off like nobody saw it!
They moved the Mazda immidiately out of the sight, and that dumb ***
kid continued to clean my car as if nothing happened.
I was just about ready to kill that kid, but calmed down a bit and called up
the manager...and then the owner eventually.
The manager and owner's referring me to one of their bodyshops
and they will fix it for free.
But I insisted that I will take it to my own bodyshop and have them pay.
They kept on insisting that get it fixed at their place, and if I'm not satisfied
with the result they will pay for work at my own bodyshop.
What would be the best way to solve this?
I have calmed down now, but am still pretty ticked off about it
I have learned my lesson. I'm NEVER putting my Z in the hands
of car wash punks....

Take it to your place. Did you contact your insurance right away or even the police to get a report? What about the Mazda he should have damage that needs to be fixed also. The wash place could say it never happend without a report.
Yup! Never ever ever let someone wash your car. That car does not mean anything to them. The car means something to you and you will always take car of it better.
Believe me, sometimes it's hard to pass by those weekend cheerleading carwashes that try to collect money for a trip to their tournaments, but it's not worth it at all.

Please tell me you didnt leave the car wash with out a police report or report claim #. If so, your screwed. Sorry to here about your car man. I know this sounds kinda wierd, but I kinda wish some one would back into my front bumper sometime. I really want my front end repainted due to all the rock chips and pitting. BEN

Car washes destroy the finish. It's taken me five months a a couple hundred dollars to begin to fix the damage caused by the dealer. I wouldn't dream of taken the Z to a car wash place.
Hope everything works out for you and they pay for it. I always try to wash my car, but if I'm in a hurry and take it somewhere to hand wash it, I never let any1 clean the inside or drive the car, I do that myself for them.

Always file a police report!! If I see someone as much as opens their car door on my car and leaves a scrape or ding, I call the police. Ok, so the police look at you like your a *****, but who cares, your a ***** that is fixing to get a free paint job payed for my some one else insurance company. There is no reason to just live with other peoples stupidity. BEN
The cops will only file a report within 24hrs of the actual incident, if it's been longer than that then they won't do sh*t, trust me I got screwed one time like that. I probably would have beat the crap outta that kid if I was there....then they would have to write two police reports, lol.
Of course, hind-sight is always 20/20. Obviously they don't want you to take your car to your own choice of shops because they're trying to mitigate the amount of money they have to dish out. It's in your best interest to find a good body shop and have the car repaired right the first time. If they keep insisting that you let them fix your car, tell them you want their insurance to take care of it. I doubt you'll find an insurance company that does not at least offer a few choices in body shops.
So, it's too late now, but for future reference.... Buy a $10 disposable camera and keep it in the car. You have to replace it every year, but it's the cheapest insurance you'll ever buy. When something happens, let everyone see you taking pictures. Pictures go a long way toward resolving issues like this.

Exactly they want to pay as little as possible, or keep pushing it off until you forget about it.
