Lowering the Z
I'm planning to lower my Z but I've noticed most guys that lower their Z, they tend to go lower in front (for example: 1.5 front, 1 back) Why is that? Shouldn't you go the same all around cuz in the front, the engine would weigh it down more than the back? But if you go lower in front, wouldn't the engine weigh it down more then the height you wanted to begin with then that would leave the back kind of unproportional? I'm just curious what's the objective of going lower in front then back.. thanks for any help!
i think it depends on the driver's wants and the kit they use. sometimes its about looks.....and filling the gap in the wheel well. other times its about performance....track/drag. sometimes you just byu some kit and go with it
The springs I'm looking at (Tanabe GF210's) give a 1" drop in front and a 1.2" drop in the rear. I would think though that a larger drop in front would probably help to correct understeer and a more equal setup would just improve handling all around. Just a guess though.
ppl tend to lower the front end more becasue the car is higher in the back to start....i guess they want an even stance all the way around.
in my opinion the Z looks better with the front end slightly lower than the back so i lowered my car a equal amount front and back
