Default Suspension for '05 "Z"'s???

I was wondering if the suspension for all Z's settle and lower after a year or so. I just bought my Z in May and there is a huge gap for between the tire and the wheel well. (about a 3-4 finger gap)

Now, i know i'm not going nuts here or anything, but my friend has an stock '03 with no suspension mods and his car looks like its been lowered about an inch from stock. I saw another "Z" that was being driven by an older lady that has the same height as my friend's.

Please tell me whats up because I really like the way it looks when the suspension settles.

There should not be much of "settle" in a year. Did you buy your car new? What size tire and wheel is on you car? Are they stock size? If you look at some of the pictures posted by new Z owners, does your car look similar? Can you show us a picture of your car from the side?

i know for a fact that my 05 got lower in the first month or so, because i bought rhino ramps when i first got the car and i had about a half inch clearance, when i went to do my first oil my bumper was hitting the ramp, i have since lowered my can with tein h-tech springs, drops about ~1/4" all around, didn't take any before and afters though....sorry got of topic, the reason yours look higher is probably because of the different suspension, the rear of the late 04s and 05s is alot stiffer(the reason i put springs on my car), im not sure but i think the rear is a little higher on the new suspension too

Yes it does, here are some pics. Sorry, car is dirty right now. I have to get the water stains out. $155 for the acid wash. But anyways this is the stock height of the car 6 months old.

yeah it probably won't settle as much as you are looking for, maybe look into springs or coilovers like ssc suggested

That is interesting. Your car does look higher than mine. Here are 2 pictures of my 2004.
The close up picture of the rear 1/4 panel was taken the day it arrived at the dealer's lot, before they even cleaned it. I ordered mine and it just got off the truck that afternoon. The picture from the side was talken when it was about 2 months old. I wonder if the Coupes and the Roadsters are differnt in ride height?

It's the newly revised ones.
I believe the new spring rate is 314/427.
The old spring rate for 03-mid 04 is 314/342

$250 shipped anywhere in North America, except Hawaii
I think i found the answer here from this guy. Why would they revise the spring rates? were there any complaints?

the back was too soft resulting there was a good amount of understeer, and there might have been some porposing(sp?), the new revision springs are tighter in the rear to fix the understeer and put in a little oversteer and i believe the shocks have been revised as well, so all in all it might not look as good but it performs better, the revise stock rear is a little too harsh in the rear for me, my current rates are ~340f/370r
