pics of a 2009 Z
Sometimes "riced out" can be a good thing, especially when it's an AWD V8 powered 350Z, or 450Z as they are calling it. People throw the "rice" word around so much that in my opinion it has lost it's true meaning. As far as the drawing in the pic, I don't see what's so rice about it, it's tastefully done and not over the top.

How old is this publication and where did you get that it was a 2009 model?
The article says it will be released in 2005 (with AWD by the way), so that obviously kills their credibility.

The success of the small coupe, 350z is undeniable in the United States. Now for 2005 the super z: the 450z. while maintaining the sturcture of hte 350, but allowing for an extreemly modern desing. The v6 is being replaced by a 4.5 liter V8 comparable to the engine used in the Nissan GT only available in japan. 6 gear transmission, All wheel drive. The plan for performance is to directly compare with the 911 and the Maserati 4.2 GT.
Not good enough for the UN but you get the idea.

Wide bodied, useless rear vents, and turn signals in the side view mirrors. Stuff that can be done to a current 350z that I would go ahead and file under rice. Maybe you guys like some of that crap. Thats fine.
Signal mirrors come standard on almost all Mercedes, and I might be mistaken, but I think Mercedes might have originated that whole concept. I dont think you can call a german car "rice". Maybe theres so major confusion about what "rice" actually means. The "useless" rear vents could actually serve a purpose. Not only do they add a different look to the car, but they might provide some tire cooling at high speeds. 4.5L V8 Nissan AWD monster could probly use some vents that can cool the tires that ur gonna be vaporizing on asphault. Wide-body makes the car rice?? Does that make any sense?? If Nissan made the body wider, its to fit larger rear tires or increase overall handling for the car. Exotic cars always have vents like those too. I guess Ferrari was going for the "riced-out" look when designing the F430....
Looks to me like its a great new generation of the Z. An evolution of the 350, just a little more lines and a lot more performance. You don't need to watch the fast and the furious to realize that these things arent rice

What makes you think the rear vents are useless? Can't they by the ducts guiding cool air to cool the rear brakes?
And I wouldn't call it wide-bodied, just flared fenders to fit wider tires.
Overall, I don't think it's rice at all.
And in all, it's just a concept drawings, no need to be so negative about it. I remember when the concept pics of the Z33 came out, everyone did not like how it looks either, no now guess what? We are all now driving one. You just gotta see a real one to appreciate it.
