The dealership that I ordered my 06' from said that the Interlago Fire is only a 5% or 6% production color, so out of all the total cars built only a few will have it. It's also a special order paint, like the yellow was (which I do believe it replaces) so it costs more to have it. I don't know if the info about the percentage was BS or not, but it sounded reasonable.

Members have stated that colors such as Liquid Aluminum and Ultra Yellow are “limited” production colors. I disagree. Nissan will paint as many 350Zs any color that the public demands. Same applies to Interlago Fire.

But the ones produced to be shipped (not custom ordered) will be a smaller percentage so unless you want to wait for a few months it will be harder to find.

Hmm I hope it's not TOO hard to get. Blargh. I was hoping to have a 2006 Enthusiast in Interlagos Fire.

They are all ordered by the dealer. Nissan just doesn't ship whatever it wants to dealers, dealers order for stock. So, if dealers are selling them, they'll paint 'em and put them on a boat. I'm sure there is nothing special about this color, just like there wasn't with Brickyard (except that most people didn't buy Brickyard because they liked it less than other colors).

I think it was more a matter of people did not know what it looked like. Several people have said if they had seen the color they would have bought it.

I would not have bought the Brick sight unseen so I drove to the other end of town to take a peak. Once I saw it, that was it.

No offense, most people buy off the lots, and dealers order what works in the past for them. If they get one, and it sits, they won't order more. It isn't like it was a secret color, I've seen several on lots (and ones that sat around for awhile, too).

Let's just call it an aquired taste

I beg to differ... there is something *very* special about Brickyard!

Heh. Of course, if you ride the sort bus, they call you "special", too

I don't dislike the color, it just wasn't my first choice and obviously wasn't a lot of other peoples, either. No offense intended to any of you brickheads

Just received a batch of 2006 Z brochures. From the brochure..."Is it deep purple? A rich red or vibrant copper? That all depends on how you look at it. Interlagos Fire changes color depending on lighting conditions and viewing angle."

Reminds me of the chameleon(flip/flop) color changing paint that was all the rage a few years ago and still is to some extent. On some cars it looks better than others.

I'd have to see it with the sun striking it before I can tell whether I like it on the z or not.

I agree. And I don't talk in terms of “best” or “worst” colors but speak about least popular and most popular. I respect all peoples tastes. As MannishBoy mentioned, if a dealer can stock 6 350Zs, and move 4 silvers each month, what's the point of taking a risk on stocking 2 Ultra Yellow and 2 Inferlagos Fire?

So the new Fire color does not have Pearl like the Brickyard? If no Pearl, then I'm not interested!

Maybe so, and I think just the name difference will make a more popular color, brickyard reminds of bricks, red ones, really slow, really red, underpowered, non-racing bricks. You know, the ones you drop on the ground and they stay there, in true brick-like fashion.

Interlagos Fire already sounds faster. I can't wait to see one in person.
