Default 06's have more cupholders?

I read that they have 1 more cupholder on each door. Has anyone seen this? If so, how useable are they and could they be retrofitted into an 03-05? The cupholders are my only complaint about the interior of the Z. The two behind my elbow are basically unuseable except for storage.

yes, apparently the Z needs 5 cup holders

I guess people can't decide where to put their drinks or like to have 5 drinks in their car while they drive

Hey, on a long roadtrip you want a couple of road rockets ready to go, you don't want to have to go scrounging in the back for a refill.

Jason@Performance already said everything there is to say about the 2006 including that there were more cup holders in this thread: https://my350z.com/forum/2003-2009-nissan-350z/142532-06-s-delivered-to-performance-nissan-initial-findings.html

Only 4 cupholders for 2006. The front cupholder to the right of the center dash for 2006 will be a business card/credit card holder.

The cup holders on the door is useless. It's just another area where you have to go into and clean or dust. My car is clean, no drinks or food is allowed in the car, no smoking, no trash, no paper, nothing.

From what I see it is the perfect place for a water bottle, which is the only drink that will be allowed in my Z anyway

I feel so jipped, I only have 3 cup holders. Had I know they were expanding it 5, I would have waited the two years!

if they are in the doors, then wont that mean you can just drive the interior door panels and get the cup holders for a lot less than what you will pay in depreciation on a trade in

The cup holders are in the door which means you can replace the part of the door that the cupholder is in, it would cost less than trading in the car.
OF course i just noticed that i put drive instead of replace, but hell thats cuz i just got my car and thats all thats on my mind.

ahh, i understand. Not sure if the part is a direct replacement or not. Dont think its something that most people would consider upgrading for. I would think that the headlights and tailights would be the biggest items.

if you looked at the pics you'd notice that if you put anything in the cup holder in the door, it would likely spill all over your leg anyway
