Just in case anybody else is waiting for invoice info. Here is a copy of an email I got from Edmunds.com:

Hello LamaZ,

My name is Won Jun Hwang, I am the Manager of Automotive Data Support for Edmunds.com and I just wanted to thank you for taking the time to submit your inquiry. I value consumer feedback tremendously and like to personally respond to as many inquiries as possible.

The 2006 Nissan 350Z invoice price will be available on our website on October 6th. Thank you for your patience.

I hope this helps you out and please feel free to submit another inquiry when/if you have additional questions, we'd be glad to assist you any way we can.

Thanks,
Won Jun

All the pictures I've seen of the alleged 2006 factory Nismo 350Z do NOT have a front lip, but it is said to have rear under body diffusers to lessen drag. Ask Tony@performance.

I think the front lip would scrape too often if they offered it to a regular joe that didn't know he was driving a sports car. A lot of Z drivers don't really know how to drive the Z anyway, that's why there are so many automatics (not to say that the auto is not as good as the manual, just that driving manual really let's you feel the mechanics of the car vs stepping on the gas pedal and brake - something auto enthusiasts like, but cruisers don't want to deal with).

The biggest differences I find are that they got rid of the performance model and added in the grand touring model, they all now come with 18" wheels or larger, and those curb weight, yikes!!! Seems like the brakes got a bit bigger also, which could contribute to the weight, but 150lbs more than the previous Enthusiast? No thanks.

Why do you say then that your 05 is old? Seems like yiu are not terribly impressed with the 2006.

I see nothing compelling in the 2006 model to make me want to get rid of my 05.

I have an auto and I see that if you want 300HP, you need the Manual Tranny.
I have a physical problem with my left ankle which precludes me from bring able to drive a manual anymore so the 06 and the 05 have the same HP for me.

The only compelling thing that would make me want to trade in my 05 is if they added an idiot buzzer when you have left the blinker on for more than 3 minutes
The blinker is so quiet in my car that I never hear it and I feel like the kind of driver that sits in the left lane and goes 50 with the blinker merrily winking away (no offense intended to the older members)

While I am kidding, that stupid blinker is my main beef with the car.

I was just joking about my car being old now since the '06s have come out.

And you are correct. I am not that impressed with the '06s. Just like you, I would not trade in my '05 for an '06 just because the changes are not compelling to me either.

I don't think White is availible for the Roadster either. Nor is the frost interior availible either. I ordered a mail brochure so it should show the color combos.

I got their brochure, it is availible but it only is on the touring coupe and convertible. on the grand touring you get the charcoal interior. Same goes with Red and blue.

Man, Blingin' may be great for crusin' and pickin' up the poo-tang, but, if you figure gearing into the equasion (math, anyone?) the 19's will slow you down just like a taller gear in the rear (which is why no one runs them on the race track), and, more weight = loss in hp as anyone knows, ('06 is heavier and hp & weight are diretcly interchangeable) so, 300 hp w/ bigger wheels and more weight is merely offering more Bling but not Performance in as far as "who wins the race" goes. I like the latter myself . . . .

Now, if they're putting the 3:951:1 low rear end gears in there to compensate, then maybe. But still . . . I put those in my 04.5 Track WITHOUT the exta weight of the '06 model (from 350evo.com; ask for BJ. They now supply them to Nismo) and well, i'd get innundated with "troll" email if I dare list my "kill list" if 'ya know what i mean, and this one mod - although pricey - made more difference overall than any of the others, even though there are many other worthy "others," including their P& P throttle body.

Just sayin' . . . .

Default Edmunds.com lied to me!

After posting that Edmunds.com promised me that they would have the invoice info by yesterday. Today I checked....and still nothing as of Oct/7/2005

Here is my email that I am sending back to Edmunds.com:
Won Jun, how could you just simply lie to me? I forwarded your statement about the information being available to many other users who are inquiring about the 2006 350Z pricing. Now we both look bad.

Oh well, some day it will get posted.

-LamaZ
I just feel so used.
