Default Quick question on Tire PSI

I know this is a really elementary question, but what would you guys reccomend running the tires at. I looked on the tires and the max PSI is 51. I am wondering because on the way to work the warning came on for one of the rear tires being low. It was at about 28 PSI. I looked in the damn book everywhere and didnt see anything. If it helps I have the RE040 tires size 18". They are usually at 32-33 PSI for the botht the front and rear tires. To me that seems a little low, I was thinking maybe about 35-40 PSI. Thanks for the input on my lame question .

I run 40. That way if it is cool in the morning they still register at 36. Plus, the stiffer tire and a non-Nissan alignment has eliminated my feathering.

I run about 28 in the rears right now (weather got a lot colder the last couple days) and my traction is great, . But I usually run low 30's. 32 0r 33.

The "damn" book (see section 9-9) and the sticker on the driver's door jam says 35 PSI.

BTW, under-inflation is the main cause of premature tire failure.

The tire pressure is on the placard inside the drivers door: 35 psi.

I used to have exact same problem you had.
My TPM would go off every two weeks...whenever the weather got cold.
I bumped the psi to 35 and everything's fine now.

BTW,

If the TPM reads:

F : 35
_____
.....34

Does that mean my front wheel is 35psi and rear 34psi?
Or its saying on front wheel it's 35psi on the right tire and 34psi on the left?

This has been confusing me.

I think that the top one under F is left front and the bottom one is right front. Then when you change to the R setting it's the same thing just in the rear.

Some Z's come with different tires I guess so VS. putting it in the books and having to print a bunch of different ones they just put it on the car, .

I thought every car has it on the car... same place you find out your paint code, GVWR, manufacture date, etc.

32-33psi is not even close to being underinflated. 35psi is suggested for street driving, but depending on the conditions you might want to run something different.

I need more air, mine are at about 32 and I can feel mushy sidewall flexing in the corners and stuff =\

Apparently Nissan has not been consistant in the way that they're setup. Some people have left on top, others have right. The only way to tell for sure is to let the pressure out to about 30 psi in one then go drive it around and figure out from the display what yours is.

The placard that was put there by the same people that selected the tires and set them up so that they feathered and then refused to acknowledge the problem for several months??

Yeah, I'm real trusting of their advice on tires!!!!

35 psi for normal driving conditions, 22psi for drag racing, 25psi for course racing, 25-30psi for street racing. All for the oem tires!

I am fairly sure that like the gas gague, the tire pressure has an arrow that tells you which is which.

Looks like a triangle.
