I get so sick of shops not caring
/Rant on
I went to a local place to get my "used" tires installed in the rear, and the service rep is the nicest guy there is; always willing to do stuff like this when other places will not install customer-provided parts.
Unfortunately the employees never seem to give a damn.
My lug holes came back all scraped to hell. They used the wrong size socket when taking off the wheels.
I showed it to the rep and he agrees that it was a very poor job and is willing to repair the wheels. He gave me a card to call this guy and set up an appointment for an estimate, and they will pay for it.
I still feel that it is irrelevant. Why don't people care about what other people have to work for? There are some people that had their parents buy their car for them. There are some people that are well-off and could have bought a Porsche or a BMW, but bought the Z. Then there the people like me who patiently waited a few years to bring the price down and found the exact car that they wanted. We are the working class that have done some things right and can afford the car that they want. (I guess that there is also the group that can barely afford it but decided to do it anyway and then complain about the gas, haha)
My point is, it doesn't matter which one of those categories you fit in. People should respect your stuff. It never ceases to amaze me. If someone was drivig an 87 Sentra, I would still not use a weed wacker near their car, yet people will also do that next to a 350Z (MINE!).
It just gets so old and makes you not even want to bother to care about your car, because there is no one else that will anyways. You take your time to park in the distance in the parking lot, and you still get a door ding. Anyway, you all get the picture.

They are getting my rear two wheels refinished completely and I am having them do the fronts at the same time. The previous owner apparently had never heard of hitting curbs so I will have four brand new looking wheels.
