IMO he is full of ****, If i were to test drive ferrari's Aston Martin's i would say the Z is not good compared to those cars. stupid fat tub

 

There you go. We all have our opinions. Right now there are 350Z owners with Muranos Cursing you out right now.

The guy on Top Gear is an enthusiast and a reporter. He's just giving his opinion, whether he drives Lambos or not. He just truely didn't love the Z. It had nothing to do with the exotics he has driven. I'm quite sure he was going into it with an open, enthusiast, automotive reporter state of mind.
Like I said earlier, a Japanese Racecar driver in a Best Motoring video took the Z around a track and did not love it. So if it makes you feel any better knowing that a Japanese JGTC Driver gave it bad reviews, now you can't blame the Brits!!!

 

I don't mind if people don't like the Z when they review it. But the Top Gear piece was a flat-out hate piece. He dissed ALL of the Z's except for the first model. ALL of them. And there were no positive parts of the 350 review. None. He didn't like a single thing...not even the award-wining engine. For most reviews he likes at least something about the car.

the engine is cool... but 3.5L pushing 287... M3 engine 3.2 pushing 333
i feel inferior lol... but our car cost 20grand less so ...

Hey people if you go to the top gear web site the z gets great reviews, Jeremy Clarkson has been reviewing cars for years and has his own opinion and he is real funny, but remember its his opinion, as for us z owners we all dont agree. ie which is best the coupe vs the roadster etc.

 

he loves the r34. that's a nissan!

 

what kinds of cars does JC own? (Other than his godly Ford GT).

 

I think he owns a Bentley..... .. Azztin Martin or something British?

Nissan designed the 350z as a 30 thousand dollar sports car and also a daily driver at the same time;the Lotus elise is a hardcore sports car Jeremy liked.
Being a daily driver .....something's got to give...
Personally, i prefer the z over the M3 because the z handles better and costs a lot less to own. Both performs more or less the same. the z looks ten times better IMO.

 

i thought the m3 is supposed to handle better. am i wrong?

 

Last thing I saw he has given the keys back for ford for his gt40 because of all the trouble he had with it,

They have loaned him a db9 while he makes his mind up!!

yeah i just saw the video with him racing a super fast train from england to france... and he loved the thing. Only problem is he didnt like the gearbox.

 

Although we never got to see the 'Stig' take the Z round the track the time he got is apparently the same as the M3, so value for money the Z wins first time, every time.

Clarkson is an idiot, he just makes random false statements about things and presents them as fact. Anyway I believe the 350Z he originally tested was an american spec version. Apparently there is a lot of difference in suspension set up, brakes etc between U.S and U.K cars. He also kept refereing to it as a Datsun in a derogotary way. Unless it's a Ferrari, Aston or Mercedes, he isn't interested. (he considers a Ferrari to be a "smaller version of God")

 

Has anyone mention that this is the reason so many people watch Top Gear. Jeremy knows how to make the show interesting. Have you ever thought that it may be part of his job to "rock the boat" a lil...give the guy a break the Z is just a car. It's not like he said your mom is a tub! As many have said its one person's opinion, if you don't like it well...good luck with life!

 

I was able to find the video (pre-production model Clarkson said) via Limewire.

I watched it and must admit that I find it kind of humorous how upset people got at Clarkson.

He is just one guy who is entitled to his opinion and I could care less whether he liked the Z or not.

I had my 'short list' of cars under $40K which I test drove when I was looking for a new car and I liked the Z the best so that is what I bought.

Since I had a decent list of cars to choose from and decided on the Z, why would i give two cahoots why one person does not like it?

Heck, my brother (2 years younger than me) has the RX8 and I don't care for it and same for him with my Z.
Everyone is entitled to their opinions.


Did Top Gear ever do another test of the Z on the track like they did with the RX8? I would like to see that one.

 

The only reason i would care is if i was trying to tell my car. Reviews like that spread false info and could hurt the value of my car. Other than that i could care less.
