evo has less horsepower than our z stock. unless your talking about the MR which i think is like 9 horsepower over us at 286

Good luck

6.5 RWHP may not, and most likely is not at peak. So it will NOT AFFECT the 287 HP rating. For example, the car may gain 6.5 rwhp at 3800 rpms, where the car may only be putting out 200 rwhp (or 230 BHP) and have NO gains at peak RPMs.

This is the very reason you can't directly add HP gains to each other.

To get to 300 BHP I would recommend a UR crank pulley, test pipes, maybe an intake, and a decent exhaust. A plenum wouldn't hurt either

only a 13hp difference? are u serious? why do u think all the people modding their Z's are spending thousands of $ on intakes, headers, exhaust, pulleys, plenums... just to get that 13hp. Having the 13hp increase is like having an intake, header, exhaust combo already done. the 287 motor will have less whp than the 300whp when both cars have the same mods done to it. But the plus side on the 287 motor is that it has more tq.

and zivman the pop charger doesnt come on at 3800rpm's. shows what u know. it kicks in at 4500rpm's. thats when the 6rwhp comes in and stays until redline. the car makes peak hp at 6200rpm and yes the pop charger is still suckin in air at that point.

Listen up buddy. I didn't know at EXACTLY which RPMs the gains were made. My point was it was not at the same RPM where peak HP is made. my 3800 rpms was merely used as an example, hence the reason I said "For example" in my previous post

Obviously your popcharger is still sucking in air at 6200 rpms, just not making anywhere near a 6.5 rwhp gain at that rpm. Sorry to disapoint you.

Even if you come back and say look at JWT's (manufacturer's) dyno, I still don't care. You can argue, and heck even have your measely 6.5 rwhp gain, point is, you will hear the intake more than you will feel it.

Go throw some turbos on your car and then we can argue some gains, untill then, you can kiss my 500rwhp

I've seen dynos that cars have actually lost HP from a popcharger. But your HP is very nice for your mods.

You're right. Most Z dyno sheets (stock) I've seen are around 230-240.. The Z motor is a tad bit overrated at times. Mine dyno'd at 232 RWHP.

Of course there are exceptions, some people have done 245 RWHP. BTW, what are so crazy about my 270-275? I said BHP, not RWHP.

Even the auto 35th. anni. ed. had 287. Now for 06 all models with the 6MT get the Rev-Up motor (300hp). Auto's still get 287 for 06. But it doesn't make a difference on which one you choose cuz the 287hp motors have more torque 274lb./ft. vs 260lb./ft. in the Rev-Up engine.
riiiight.

No thanks. But I'd go for a T-shirt. It should say:

300 HP. Round numbers make undrgnd happy.
