I hope u guys know what i mean.... thanks.. 300 is a round and nice number... .hiihhiihiihiih dont' know y nissan didn't do that to begin with..... why 287hp????????????????????
I felt the same way three years ago so I added:

JWT Popcharger ($100), Borla TD exhaust ($650), LaBree Motorsport Testpipes ($490).

I've also added UR racing pulley and JWT lightweight flywheel however, those are unlikely to show gains on a dyno. But, they may make a difference on the road.

I've had dynos from 255 to 266 rwhp. That translates to 300 to 313 crank horsepower. Good enough for you to feel comfortable saying your Z has 300 hp. It will cost you less than $1,500 including installation, less if you want to do it yourself. One suggestion, get a baseline dyno before you start doing mods. That way you can confirm just how much power you've gained.

according to Stillen....just swap your stock crank pulley which weights over 7 pounds with the UR pulley which weights hardly anything will increase hp. Stillen estimates..... for every pound you lose your gaining 2.7hp....just do the math.

But the plus side on the 287 motor is that it has more tq.
This sounds pretty ridiculous... I know I've already read on multiple occasions by posts from other users on this forum, where they've said that performance results on the 287hp motor and the 300hp motor were virtually identical. And I've heard one also say that in a review, the 287hp motor actually got FASTER 0-60 and 1/4 mile times, than the 300hp motor. And it's pretty logical... I mean when your car is a 3.5L V6, and has 287-300 hp, 13hp isn't going to change the world... Not to mention it's still the same motor... They lost some torque to gain some hp... The 400 rpm redline increase probably contributes to that, if not being the only reason for the 13hp increase. Anyway in the end, they're both the exact same thing, just a give and take. Results are virtually the same. If there are people who want to feel better by saying they have a 300hp car, then they can just say they have around 300... Otherwise just get a few boltons to help yourself feel better at night, and after that, you can still say you have more torque.

Or, we can just lie like Mazda does all the time and say that our 287 hp engines are 300 hp.

I know the performance og the 287hp and 300hp engines are the same. Thats why I said I would rather have more tq. and a lower redline. U are right... slap on a few bolt ons and u are set.

Default HELP... should I buy a 350z again, or still crap?

I had an '03. Common problems that were unexcusable were the 5 trannys, tire feathering and bouncy ride. (for all you new school kids, dont say its because its a "sports car"). It was crap and Nissan had to buy it back!

I am still in love with that damn 350z though, and my '04 accord 6sp + 300zx TT is just the 350z divided into two cars. no bueno!

WHICH PROBLEMS are fixed and on what years. 04? 05? 06?!?!

Any '05 owners need the s-tune fix still? Or how about tranny claims? Please help...

later

ps.

I've got the mods listed below and my popcharger, test pipes and plenum spacer gave me about 20 more whp according to the dyno. So, from the base of 237 to a best pull of 257 with all three combined, I would say it's over 300 at the crank if you just do the math. But, who knows for sure until you dyno it.

Or go on a diet and lose 35 pounds and its equal to gaining 13hp.
