I don't understand how egg can damage clearcoat or paint, especially through wax. It should be resistant to egg. Please let us know after you clean your car: exactly what happened to the paint. I find it hard to believe there would be any damage, but who knows.

 

That sucks to no end!! It's ironic though. I had a black Civic EX Coupe that got egged. The egg shells went right through the paint to make a round egg shaped patern. And the egg drips went through too. Chickens should all be slaughtered before it's too late!! I don't care about KFC!!!

 

I think the proteins in the egg white is what does the damage. Both my BMW's got hit in front of my house. It went right through the paint and left a spiral type pattern on both cars. It will go through anything, including a clear coat.

 

eggs ruin the paint, 5seconds of contact and it wont look right. bologna will also mess up the paint. if you want to mess with someone, saran wrap his car. or write on the windows with shoe polish.

unless you want to be a jackass. then pretend his car is a sandwish and use delimeat and eggs.

oh, and you have 2 options. one is to wait by the car with a bat, he comes by and slows down, smash his windsheild to peices. this will make you feel better, but since you cant prove he egged your car, youll likely pay for his windsheild and he will pay for nothing. option 2 is to call the cops, but still you have no proof unless they catch him throwing eggs at another car. this might be enough proof to suggest he hit the last car as well.

What I would give to catch a kid in the act. I swear to god I would tear his limbs from their sockets.

Everyone has been a kid but somehow I knew better then to egg someones car.

Whats even worse is why didn't the damn kid do it to the old piece of **** car.

 

Why not post a reward of $100 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person who did this? Maybe one of the people with the culprit will take the $100 over the "friendship" and you'll have the perp for possible compensatory and punative damages. I'm not a lawyer, but, if it were my car, I'd pay a little to teach him a lesson.

I bought my last brand new 300z in 1990. Within 3 weeks it was keyed and egged. Of course I was sick about it just as I am sure are now. But this vandalism is nothing new and there is no easy or ready answer for it since humans have been destructive throughout history. Good luck and hopefully there is a reasonable and not costly solution.


This isn't exactly what I wanted to wake up to on a Sunday morning. Why do people feel the need to destroy something that is nice if it isn't theirs? I worked two full time jobs to get the down payment for this car, and this is what happens. The eggs ate through the clear coat and into the paint. I got my Z in september and it needs to be repainted already? ..... I have a sick feeling in my stomach, I really wish I knew who did this.

Sh*t when i get my z in january nobody better touch my ****......put a bullet in dat azz.. Hope you find a way to get that fixed. I first bought my intergra in 1998, new neighborhood, and i still got egged like that. Woke up next morning and the sun was out. That didnt do any good. The egg was fried onto my car. I was pissed off like no other. well anyways sorry for what that bastard did.

I've got a bunch of tuners (or wannabe tuners) giving my baby gazes when I'm driving my 350Z around town. Being secure I don't give it much thought, but the skeptic in me wants to put a forcefield around my Z. I don't mind the respectful people that admire a nice piece of work but it's when the losers that want to hate b/c they don't have, that makes me mad. We've all worked hard to get our cars and for someone to abuse that makes me more than a little agitated.

A serious beatdown is in store for anyone that disrespects my baby.

How about a video cam. Be ready every night at 10:30 and if they come don't make yourself known until it is too late for them. You'll get their faces and car plate #. Keep a bat next to you in case they don't get it.

Man this scares me. I've never seen a car take so much abuse for being the new hot thing. I never had anyone deface my Vette, Supra or Prowler. This makes me sick and worried about even getting a Z. I'm still getting one mind you Supposed to be here in January. But if I ever caught some dickless bastard doing that I'd break his neck on the spot. That's just the most childish, immature, act you can commit.

Finally got a chance to really see the damage, to me it looks like the clearcoat is the only thing that is screwed up. The only damage is where the eggs actually impacted the car, but I'm not a paint expert so who knows (still waiting for the insurance company). I decided to buy the car cover from Courtesy Parts, and I also broke out the video camera. I'm kicking around the idea of building a camera that I can sit inside of my Z that will activate with motion. On another note, I think I found out where the driver of the Civic HB lives. I'm thinking about paying him a visit face to face (Just have to be sure it's the right person). I would have given my right nut to have been in my car when they egged it (I sometimes sit in my car for no reason at all).

ScottC: The "ricer" behind my car is a 240sx, which has the factory body kit and spoiler on it. It is lowered and has 17" wheels, other than that it's pretty much stock. The only thing that I don't care for is the banner across the windshield. I think it's actually a very clean looking car. It is my brother's car, which will hopefully have a built SR20DET engine in it by the summer. I drove a 240sx with the SR20 swap and I honestly believe that it will smack my 350z around a bit, or atleast give it a really good run. (Don't get me wrong I absolutely love the 350z)

I too was a victim of an egging, 3 eggs to be exact. All of them were close quarter eggs so the eggs chipped the paint. Luckily I had a few coats of Zaino on the paint and the egg did not harm the finsh of the paint in any way. Unfortunately, the egg hit the car with such velocity that it chipped the paint on my hood.

Repaint by a professional spot painter = 120 dollars.

Two Coats of Zaino = 10 dollars

Saving yourself a lot of headache of visiting a body shop, Priceless...
