I agree, they look as blue as the BMW and Audi's. I'm positive they are different from the Z but I have no proof besides what I see.

The bulbs are a different color temperature than the 350Z OEM bulbs?

All factory HID bulbs are in the ~4100K Range, which provides the most brightness. Where you get the color from are the projector lenses used in the headlamp (the Z's lamp is not a true projector like the Maxima). People that use 6000K + bulbs are just looking for attention and not brightness.

You can get the same look if you aim your lights up a little, plus it helps you see a little further down the road. I aimed mine higher because they were low even by Nissan specs. Everyone asks me if I put new bulbs in because they are more brilliant looking.

I have a link to the aiming procedure at home I can post up if no-one else does. I'll try to remember; I need to do this procedure as well...

As for the look, there is more to it than just aiming or even the type of housing. The Infiniti FX has full projector b-xenon lights and they have no bluish-hue or color shift to them at all like the Maxima, so I don't know what the deal is. As a former FX owner, there were many of us wondering about that. As far as Audi or BMW lights, they use different specs in the optics of the housings (ECE spec as opposed to DOT spec); that may have something to do with it, as they still use 4100k bulbs, but does not explain why the Maxima's bulbs have the same look... Be interesting to see how the '06 Z's lights look.

yeah, i aimed them up, but honestly, with my old car i had the silverstars, made the high beam bulbs fit into my lows(so they were more white than blue), and aimed them up a bit, i could see so much better than the Z now
